Frozen ride replacing Maelstrom?

Does anyone know if this is true? I have heard from multiple sources with Disney (not basic staff employees) that they are debating re-doing malestrom to be a frozen ride or completely get rid of it to make a real meet and greet similar to what they have in MK for the princesses. They have told me it is a 100% that it will be changed but it is between the two decisions. Again does anyone else have information on this? The person I spoke with is one of the highest in Disney, but still IDK.

Considering the popularity of the movie this is not surprising. Of course there is always a third scenario where management debates this so long that another bright shinny object get's their attention and Malestrom is forgotten and they move on to something else.

Spirit has thankfully stated that Maelstrom being gutted for a meetngreet is "Not Happening".
A bare bones Frozen retheme however is being proposed.

If you think this, then you truly have no idea what EPCOT is about.

I get it. Loved EPCOT growing up in 80s. Just saying in 1985 I wish there were more kid rides back there. Communicore was the best, the old future world rides better than current.

I like the idea of celebrating the worlds cultures. But let's have fun ways to do that for children during the day and at night the childless adults can drink their way around the world.

Of course it wasn't happening.. TDO may be stupid, but they aren't that stupid... Plus, look who brought that meet and greet nonsense to the thread.. That should tell you right there it was bogus...

Did anyone see the concept art HTF posted today on Twitter? Mt Fuji looked pretty cool in the Japan pavilion in World Showcase.... That's the Epcot that should be, not cartoonized. Sadly. we have to deal with the dumbing down of Epcot (and WDW in general) to the lower standards of today's population...

I think that Mt. Fuji ride would be just as popular, if not more than, as an animated addition to a country.

its not really all that bogus though, if it happened to snow white at MK it can happen here. But gladly its not. Its just I wouldnt put it past TDO especially since they nixed or froze the meetngreet between Mexico and Norway.

Even though it is already so crowded, I think the best place for a Frozen attraction is Magic Kingdom. Get rid of Autotopia and add a matterhorn-type ride (although smaller), inevitable meet and greet, and some shopping (with snow on the roof). This way every time it snows on Main Street they can say something like "Queen Elsa is up to her old tricks again". And if you have to keep Autotopia move it to the Studios but make it smaller and themed to cars and put it in Pixar place. Make it more interesting with hills and fun turns and character-themed cars.

I do not think Maelstrom can handle the crowds if they made it themed to frozen. I'd also make the B&B show themed to Frozen. That way they get people in EPCOT for the Meet and Greet, Studios for the show, and MK once its built.

My .02 cents.
