I think that the Capitol is there because it is a name? Not because there making weird combinations of upper and lower case letters. It's like writing out John or John... And I do not think the c is meant to be upper case, only to fit around the o or SSE symbol.

EPCOT's original plan ended with Walt's death, the imagineers wanted to continue his vision, but didn't have his ideas to make it more like what he wanted originally.

Lots of things changed around that time, they removed the Mickey hand with 2001 on it on SSE, i think due to the new century, since it was originally supposed to show the 21st century in the 20th. Now that it is the 21st, why would people want to, or they think people would want to see what's going to happen yesterday from a persons view of it 30 years ago.... I wouldn't!

Yes it's become more on a theme park over the years, but after Walt died, It was made to be a theme park, and they have to compete with other places.

As more people can learn about future technology and history's accomplishments online, Disney has been and continue to slowly adjust there rides to allow people to use google than come to the parks.
Didn't imagineers in the 90s propose putting a roller coaster inside spaceship earth? I can't remember the time frame for that project

Some time between 93-96 I think, I think they determined there wasn't enough room, but it would be pretty cool!!!

What if they just made the track a roller coaster and put an Aerosmith super stretched on it, and you would go thr. It super fast...

That would have been awesome. I think the theme was gonna be time travel

The awful Project Gemini.

It was more a study, an exercise in blue sky out-of-the-box thinking than a blueprint. Thank God. Not that that did any good, FW was all but destroyed regardless. It's amazing how one generation of 90s designers and management managed to destroy Disney's greatest theme park ever. Just a few yeas, just a few people, with an impatient antipathy for the work of a decade earlier.

Time Racers...to be launched off the roof of the Energy pavilion or something like that... The whole plan was ambitious...some of it good,a lot of it not so great....the one good thing it did was add more attractions rather than remove them... I believe it was also calling for the missing attractions to be added to Germany, UK, Italy and Japan...

Then you meant Epcot not EPCOT. EPCOT is the Experiment Prototype Community Of Tomorrow, Its an acronym hence its capitalization. Epcot is the current usage for the Theme park (though when its original dedication uses EPCOT, most outside media uses Epcot to prevent confusion of the two). If your going to use EPCOT then you should have specified which of the Epcot you mean if you didn't want people correcting you.
Most would assume EPCOT Center given that this is a website about the actual Walt Disney World, not the imaginary Progress City. For the record, Epcot was EPCOT Center (with caps) until around 1994 when they started briefly naming the park after the year (Epcot'94). When the years disappeared, the caps were left off and the park's name was no longer an acronym.

To their credit, I prefer the area music introduced in the 90s...

It wasn't that there wasn't room, it was that the current "stages" for Spaceship Earth are integral to the structure.

Time Racers was the worst part of Project Gemini. The over arching concept of greening up Future World was solid and should have been done.

While I am not interested in Kareoke of a movie I didn't think had great music, plot or really anything...(yeah, outside of the snow effects, I really didn't care for it much at all)...

I do have to admit that I appreciate interactive movie experience concepts like that.

Here was mine growing up...every halloween from age 17 until 20 or so...

It was more like the ride path and the structure of the building were too tightly integrated. To put a big thrill ride into Spaceship Earth, you'd pretty much have to start over from scratch.

I've been four times. As an adult. Alone. I have no shame.

I was at Target a few hours ago and ventured into the Disney aisle... Here's the Frozen section:

This was taken at noon. The rest of the aisle was stocked with all of the other princess crap. But Frozen everything is GONE.

I also stopped in the Disney store and it was mobbed (plush sale, buy one get one for $1 or something) and they literally couldn't keep the Frozen dolls on the shelf. The manager was standing there with an open box.

I really wanted the Kristoff animators doll, but after seeing him, I really don't like the molded hair and I decided to pass. The guy behind me said "oh thank goodness" and quickly grabbed it. It was the last one.

I think Frozen is popular. Just a hunch.

There is not an ounce of Frozen merch anywhere to be had at the parks, except I guess a little bit in Norway? Asked at MK and the castmember said they dont carry anything for Frozen.
