Frozen ride replacing Maelstrom?

Well, I consider The Princess and the Frog one of the best Disney films ever. When discussing films of a similar nature, I would watch Tangled a dozen times before subjecting myself to Frozen again. Anything Pixar has made, with the obvious and unfortunate exception of Cars 2, makes Frozen look like amateur hour, in my opinion.

In our house, we rate movies according to the value of the money and time spent seeing them. Almost nothing is deemed worthy of seeing it in a first-run theater in 3-D. Gravity was. Most Disney and Pixar films earn the designation of seeing them for full price in traditional format. Some stuff (lots from Dreamworks) is worth the price of a ticket at a second-run theater, and some things are worthy of nothing more than a DVD rental. We usually scrutinize our choices well enough that very few films get the "not worth seeing at all" stamp, but it happens occasionally.

In retrospect, if I had my choice, I would've seen Get a Horse on a big screen in 3-D and waited for Frozen to hit the cheap theaters. All of my kids and my wife agree. (We're big on unanimity. ;))

As for the Lion King, with the exception of the brilliant opening sequence, it struck me as oddly clichéd and shallow from my first viewing. This review reflects my feelings pretty well: http://decentfilms.com/reviews/lionking
Am I the only one who found Gravity to be the most overrated film of the year? It was so unrealistic that it took me out of the movie. What are the odds that none of the debree hit her?

Ummm... Home on the Range was released in April 2004, almost three years earlier than Meet the Robinsons, so your inference is incorrect.
No, he's right. You said it was the worst since Meet the Robinsons. That means you think Home on the Range, which came beforehand, was better. That means it's not the worst since Home on the Range, because (in your opinion) Meet the Robinsons was worse.

I love the Maelstrom, even though it's a very short ride. I wouldn't upset me if they incorporated a scene from Frozen, but a complete overhaul would be devastating. They'd have to get rid of the trolls.
They would be able to keep trolls but change them to look like the ones in the movie

Wrong. "Least favorite Disney animated film since Meet the Robinsons" means exactly that. After that movie, which was released well after Home on the Range, we have liked nothing less than we liked Frozen. The word "since" establishes that the pertinent frame of reference begins with the release of the only other film I mentioned, without any commentary on what preceded it. We liked Meet the Robinsons very little. After it was released, we liked no other Disney film less than Frozen. How does what came before even enter the discussion?

For example:
Frozen was my least favorite since Meet the Robinsons.
Meet the Robinsons was my least favorite since Chicken Little.
Chicken Little was my least favorite since Home on the Range.
Home on the Range was my least favorite since Atlantis.
Atlantis, I think, was my least favorite ever.

Therefore, Atlantis < Home on the Range < Chicken Little < Meet the Robinsons < Frozen

See?

You hated Atlantis and Robinsons? Those are actually in my Top 10.

Oops. Begging your pardon, I'm sure it's not reflection on your quality as a well-known and widely respected contributor to this forum.

No, it's not. If you believed that Meet The Robinsons were better than Home on the Range, then logically, the sentence would be "Frozen was our least favorite Disney animated film since Home on the Range."

Now, if you said, "In a time frame from 2007 to the present, Frozen is second only to Meet The Robinsons as our least favorite movie", then that works.

We did.

...the sentence would be "Frozen was our least favorite Disney animated film since Home on the Range."

Except that that is not true, nor is it what I meant, wrote, implied or intended. We liked Meet the Robinsons less than Frozen. Since MTR, we have liked nothing else less than Frozen. There is absolutely no need to take the reference back any further than the last movie we liked less than Frozen. And how much we liked Frozen relative to Meet the Robinsons implies absolutely nothing at all with respect to a movie released before the time frame my sentence established.

Now, if you said, "In a time frame from 2007 to the present, Frozen is second only to Meet The Robinsons as our least favorite movie", then that works.

Wow. Or I could have simply listed my order of preference for every Disney animated film since Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Except that all that I wanted to say, and all that I said, was that Disney has not released an animated film we liked less than Frozen since Meet the Robinsons. What I wrote is precisely the same in meaning as your last sentence.

By now, everybody knows what I meant, regardless of how what I wrote was misinterpreted. I'll take leave of explaining any further.

if they think it belongs near Norway in EPCOT then why couldn't they just leave Maelstrom alone and build a Frozen ride in the relatively large space between Mexico and Norway?

They could and should, but I dont see them forking out that kind of money. They are always intent on ruining what they have to save money. Now if Norway still sponsored Norway this could be a different story.

Judging by the box office - I'd say the general public believes Frozen is fantastic. Enough inane bickering about movie preferences.

People need to learn brevity.

I personally just hope that the financial success of Frozen actually spurs them into action. Perhaps it won't be 20 years before we see a Frozen attraction.

On the latest episode of the Unofficial Guide's Disney Dish with Jim Hill and @lentesta Jim mentioned that Disney is considering adding a Frozen sequence to Mickey's PhilharMagic. He also dusted off the rumor/info about adding the Three Caballeros animatronics to Gran Fiesta Tour and the only hold up is the smallish budget just for the install.
