Frozen ride replacing Maelstrom?

That or Sugar Rush.

Not a huge fan of the J-Pop they'd probably use for that sequence. I loved the Wreck-It Ralph song. While watching the credits, I was thinking, "Hey, this sounds like one of the video game songs that Buckner & Garcia did in the 80s; that's pretty cool." Then I saw the credit list. "Holy cow, they actually got Buckner & Garcia to write a song for a video game just like they did in the 80s! That's awesome."

I was thinking of this thread when I saw Frozen again the other day. Is it odd that I am more of a purist even though I never visited Epcot Center in the earlier days? I say that because I'm basically anti-any characters in Epcot unless they are being utilized in an appropriate, edutainment way (like Timon and Pumbaa in the Circle of Life). So I sat there and thought, if they ever want to add a little touch of Frozen into Norway, it would be to use this song as the backbone of a new film and maybe even as a base for a new score for the ride.

I feel the major issue with Maelstrom is it is very discombobulated. You enter into a themed foyer which for some reason leads to a big blank '80s looking room, with only one mural on one side. In this room, you climb inside a viking boat. Then you go on a ride past trolls, vikings, polar bears, and oil rigs, and you go down a couple of drops. It isn't very cohesive. A nice composition/musical score would work well with this I think.

Was at Epcot last week and went into the "church" in Norway, which has temporarily emptied and filled with frozen concept art, concept models, and full size costumes......wait, I thought the movie was animated????? My mind has just been blown...

Or what about DHS? It could certainly use more rides.
I still don't get what is so great about Malestrom.

Comon, it's a great depiction of Norway's tales(trolls, you disappear...DISAPPEAR DISAPPEAR!!!), history (historical Vikings with horns), industry(OIL BRO) and flora and fauna(polie bears, so cute...trees, and oil rigs)

I would hope they don't replace it, I say make a new in NFL, make it a phase III, after DMT... I don't think they should do DHS, because if the rumours are right, and they plan to do a major redo, it'll be a waste, since they should be with the other princesses.... Make a mini frozen castle!!! Also there supposed to be this generations princesses.... almost every generation has had one.

Can't we put a Frozen ride in Fantasyland where it belong or are they going to wait 20 years like they did with Mermaid?

Let's see...20 years would be 2034.

It'll be 2017 before we see Avatar/Pandora (potentially, if it stays on time)

After that, we're hoping that they'll do something with DHS (because they probably won't do a thing until after the DAK changes are done), so it could be what, 2020-2021 before we see that, so maybe before 20 years it could happen for Frozen, but...

If I were a person that liked to bet, though, I'd probably throw my money all in on them doing nothing in the parks with Frozen, and instead, creating a new section of Art of Animation (or a subsequent resort), and putting in a 'Frozen' section. We don't need Cars Land, we have a pretty Cars courtyard and really expensive suites to look at...so why not do the same with Frozen?

I just thought this was something I should point out. I have been asking people who are regular Old Disney Visitors a few questions about this, including someone who was at Disney World opening day and someone who started going yearly the year after it opened. I expected to see a lot of negative response to the idea of a Frozen ride in Norway but almost every response I got was positive for it if it was done right. I just thought that would be something to throw out for thought.

well 2017 for the boat ride and some of pandora, the light effects and the ride won't open till 2019 where they shall dub it phase 2 of avatar land or as a grand re opening!

I do not understand this comment. A bit more context please.
A few of the attractions kept breaking down on opening day (Peter Pan being one of them).
There were construction workers still working in the park when the gates opened.
Concrete was still wet and women in heels had a bit of an issue of sinking into the concert.
Counterfeit tickets were a issues, and a opening that was planned to only handle 11,000 saw 28,000.
This lead to a massive traffic issue and a food shortage.
There was a gas leak in Fantasyland that lead to a temporary evac from that area.
And last but not least a window from the Mark Twain Steamboat fell on a senator.

This was just opening day. Could you Imagine what the forums would say if Shanghai opened like this.

What I am getting at is there is always going to be flaws, but in the end we typically don't remember them.
