I am still shocked that Disney Hired them. I love the duo. Robert Lopez work with Avenue Q and Book of Mormon is amazing. I just never expect this side of them.

They hired Patton Oswalt for Ratatouille, and he cusses like a sailor in his act.

No. But WS rides/attractions should be about the countries and not Disney movies or past entertainment. I'm already on record as saying that Mexico should revert to the original Mexico ride and not be based on The Three Callaberos. No other WS attraction is like this right now. Want character M&G? Knock yourself out but don't "Disney up" the main attractions.
Agreed. The epcot exhibits should be a celebration of the countries and their rich histories, not themed to match any particular movie. As awesome as Frozen was, it would be a better fit in New Fantasyland, if anywhere.

Like I said before as long add the ride still showcases the country its fine by me. I think they did a good job of adding the three caballeros and still showcase mexico.

They couldn't do this fast enough for me. Worthless ride, utter drivel storyline to it, and one of the most shameless dump offs into a giftshop out of all of Disney's creations. There is no reason for this ride to EVER have a line for it, or to have existed in the first place. This ride screams lazy in all ways.

I don't know, I like the backwards drop and the occasional blasts of cold air. It's a fun little boat ride. Not to say some changes wouldn't be welcome, but it's something I ALWAYS ride when doing WDW.

Why would you not expect them to hire the most talented people they can find?
Agreed. I knew they would, but I only knew their work prior to Frozen from the inappropriate musicals which I love. I just never thought that they would find their way to Disney. I am not complaining in the least though.

Yikes if you hate Maelstrom this much I'd hate to hear what you think of Grand Fiesta Tour lol

This isn't the first time Disney has worked with Lopez. The did the Finding Nemo musical at DAK as well.

What made this film better than a lot of their more recent films is the hiring of this duo and their musical theater background. Unlike the studio's recent films, whose scores all had a certain pop sensibility, this one was heavily influenced by the musical theater. As a result, the scenes and songs flow organically in a way that hasn't been seen in a Disney animated feature since the days of Alan Menken and the late, great, Howard Ashman.

I love the Maelstrom, even though it's a very short ride. I wouldn't upset me if they incorporated a scene from Frozen, but a complete overhaul would be devastating. They'd have to get rid of the trolls.

I could totally see them removing Little Mermaid quick retheme on outside of building and put a stage show in there ...
Considering it's going to broadway, it would only make sense too. Perhaps they can get an abbreviated DHS-specific version made at some point once they figure out the broadway version?
