IMO Disney should keep Norway as is, and make "Frozen" something bigger.
Look what Universal is doing.... They have the "Harry Potter" right and Disney
has the "Frozen" right. I know disney JUST finished the New Fantasyland HOWEVER
if they build Elsa's castle, and maybe a dark ride with beautiful effects people would flock to it.
I'm not saying this area would last seeing that it's focus is just on one movie... But if Disney decides to use Frozen, I think it should be more than replacing a classic ride.

Yes a ride is a good idea, just NOT Maelstrom.

You're making too much sense. This is TDO we're talking about... :(

Look at the boy Wizard's land at UNI and Carsland in DCA. They don't merely 'cash' in on the franchise....the quality is so high in these lands that it enhances and strengthens the franchise. It extends the life of it.

To fully get the most out of the Frozen 'franchise', it needs a 'land' built from scratch (not an overlay). One that's designed to maximize what people like about the film, oozing detail and quality. One that's designed to handle the traffic that it is going to get. Doing this right (and not on the cheap) is like throwing a seasoned log on the fire that will provide heat for hours, while an overlay is like throwing shredded paper soaked in lighter fluid on the fire, it may burn very hot... but the fire goes out in minutes.

If you are a fan of Frozen, this (doing it right) is what you should want. The meet & greet & the sing-a-long can suffice until a proper land is built.

If you are a fan of immersive, themed attractions designed to entertain the whole family, then this is what you should want.

If you are a shareholder of $DIS who's in it for the long term, this is what you should want.

Not to repeat in depth what's been reported in the 'spirit' thread about the ability of the Mouse to pay for this, but they've been spending 'billions' buying back their own stock (@ParentsOf4 reported 12 billion the last 3 years). They can easily afford it...

Heck, Arendelle as its own LAND could be a cash cow.

I really don't get why people think DHS is the right place for a Frozen Ice Palace? Not saying Epcot is either, but it would look really odd in DHS. Now, add in Star Wars, a truly themed Pixar expansion, etc. then yes, it would fit. As the park is now? I personally couldn't see it. DHS shouldn't be the park where things are plopped down because they don't make sense anywhere else, but that's what it has become.

Quoting for truth.

Disney Park fans contribute to the madness by accepting that DHS is the park anything can be thrown into.

Well, isn't that what it's turned out to be? You got Star Wars and Indiana Jones and Muppets and Pixar and all sorts of stuff crammed together into an unholy mess. We don't have any choice BUT to accept that, sadly.

I had a guest relations person tell me yesterday that fast passes are not being issued after august 24th for malestrom. Can anyone confirm this?

Would someone Mind checking on this to see if Fastpasses are indeed not being issued after August 24th?

I am actually not a fan of an entire themed land based on one property. Carsland is pretty, but the only worthwhile attraction is Radiator Springs Racers. Plus, RSR also takes you through the town, making the land redudant. Same goes for Potter, and even Springfield. I rather have a broader land with multiple attractions.

I'm still on the fence about this topic---like it yet don't.

The other problem with single IP themed land is that it cannot as easily be replaced with new attractions I think.

Hollywood Studios is often the "catch all" for new entertainment and stuff that otherwise doesn't have a home. I highly doubt Disney would ever paint themselves into a corner and restrict the presence of animated properties to a certain location of a certain park. Having said that, it would be nice if a level of distinction was made. Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast exist as stage shows in DHS, to me that has a Hollywood feel. Comparatively, their landscapes were recreated in Fantasyland and that seems to fit as well. As such, I really think a full recreation of Arendelle would be better suited for Fantasyland than Hollywood Studios. Having said that, if you want to draw a line in the sand, I think hand drawn vs. CGI could be enough of a distinction to put additional content in Hollywood Studios. I could see a variant of Fantasyland 2.0, with the CGI properties as a whole new land inside Hollywood Studios.

This is brilliant.

What's ironic is that you are displaying a photo of you in Cars Land at the Red the fire truck meet n' greet area. And yet you also went on Racers so you passed Red the fire truck inside the ride, although that's only a 5 second glimpse of him during the 3 minute long dark ride portion of the ride. And the portion of the ride where you are actually in the town or inside one of the businesses is about 2 minutes of that 3 minute long dark ride. Using your logic, there's no need for you to stop to say hello to Red again since you already saw him inside the ride. Let alone like the photo enough to use it as your online calling card. :)

But that's not unusual behavior, because Cars Land is generally mobbed with people just hanging out and strolling and taking photos and dancing to the music and taking it all in since it's a jaw-droppingly impressive themed environment.

Cars Land, and Racers, is obviously something the customers have responded to very, very positively. If done right, like with Cars Land, a land themed to one property of characters or stories can be wildly succesful and very entertaining.

Animation Courtyard? Nah, I'm thinking Streets of America. Anchored on one side by a Hoth like environment in Star Wars Land and on the other by a Brave area in Pixar Place.
Idk...well, at least on my whiteboard at my home that I have just to let my ideas flow I have Tatooine in SWL taking up SoA (The other side would be Endor).

Also, what ideas would you have to make Brave attractions? Sure, the themeing could be awesome but no obvious rides stand out except maybe a dark ride about the movie
