What have I been pushing? The personal belief that Frozen would make a good fit for Norway? The idea that maybe they could out a frozen ride there and a ride-exit giftshop? Perhaps have a meet and greet like the do with other princesses in WS? That perhaps Anna and Elsa could be added to the princess offerings at the Akershus character meals?

The difference between my expressing my opinions on these ideas and what that one person did when he repeatedly declared that it was a done deal that they were going to officially remove Norway from the pavilion and make it an actual 'Arendelle' pavilion is that I clearly was giving my personal opinion and he presented his as actual news from the company. A done deal.
You and the 4th grader have had your own agenda in this thread, namely to assert that the rumors Pheneix and Lee have been asserting are not to be believed. And even if he had put "In My Humble Opinion" in bold letters afterwards it wouldn't have helped. But I also suppose it would be more appealing for us to collectively imagine new means of buying into DVC....

Maybe we can put some of this FROZEN TAKES PLACE IN NORWAY to rest cause here is a fact:

"The film's animators visited an Ice Hotel in Quebec, Canada to study how light reflects and refracts on snow and ice. For the film's setting, the animators used the landscape of Norway and the feel of the winter season of Wyoming for inspiration."

Frozen takes place in Norway just as much as it takes place in Canada and Wyoming. I.E. IT DOESN'T TAKE PLACE IN NORWAY.. Norway's landscape was simply used as INSPIRATION... Huge difference. Now that we put that to rest, Frozen does not belong in Norway...
It's awesome that you can access wikipedia, but I wonder why you ignored what was just a few paragraphs below what you copied.

"Several landmarks in Norway appear in the film, including the Akershus Fortress in Oslo, the Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim, and Bryggen in Bergen."

I have not taken issue with any rumor that Lee has presented. The only thing that I have expressed any doubt in is Phenix' outlandish claims that they were going to do away with the Norway pavilion and make it officially an 'Arendelle' pavilion.

Well, as long as you weren't pushing an agenda or the like....

I can almost guarantee it is a false rumor though. Like @dadddio said, some random person who wanted this to come true said it was a rumor like too many people do, and started this whole controversy

This whole situation is like a political tv show / radio show. Twist up the message so far as to distract what the real conversation should actually be about. I swear, it's almost as if we are having a debate with a multi-billion dollar media corporation.
It would be nice to leave the personal out of it. But its seems the message is too closely tied to the messenger for that....

Exactly, I was just thinking this. People are too opinionated. Im gonna go and think of a better way to term it and edit this later;)

I actually did read those articles and I think folks are taking the Snow Queen angle too seriously. Snow Queen may have been the genesis of Frozen, but the movie became something much different. The bottom line is that Norway appears to be very happy that Frozen is associated with their country and their culture. If they are okay with it, why should we be blasting Disney for that?

Norway will be happy as long as Disney keeps selling tours and cruises to their land.

There is a difference, though, between Anna & Elsa and Frozen being associated with Norway versus the movie representing the Norwegian people and culture. It suffers from the same problems as Ratatouille would in France, that while the story is indeed associated with, originates from, and takes place (at least loosely) in Norway (or Paris), it would not so well represent the nations people and their lifestyles.

Yet he's not a random poster and Lee has also verified the validity of what Pheneix said....
Lee can speak for himself, but it certainly does not appear that he validated that rumor. Lee actually posted that he's seen nothing to suggest that they were going to change the pavilion from Norway to Arendelle. (post 2127)

You definitely have a point, but one wonders how much a good ride is really expected represent. Does Maelstrom really represent the Norwegian people and their lifestyles?

And again you're focusing on the degree of this project, bringing it back to one particular comment.

But, as long as you're not making it personal....

Hey Lee - I heard the Norwegian government wasn't all too keen on having a Frozen attraction replace Maelstrom. Is that still a factor in the approval of this project? Or has the Norwegian government given the "OK" for the re-do?

I know your directing your question to Lee, but I don't believe the Norwegian government has anything to do with it, unless they are entering a new deal with Disney, which I dont believe they are. But I can find out shortly if there is any yay/nay to that

What if it gets the "VisitNorway.com" treatment? I know I don't like the idea of a Frozen story ride plopped in Norway, but I don't know how I feel about A&E acting as tour guides...:confused:o_O

I would prefer that kind of scenario, to just throwing a botched up cheap frozen story overlay there.
