Frozen ride replacing Maelstrom?

I know others have said things along this line, but honestly I'm fine if they add Frozen and add the subtitle "A tale from Norwegian Legend" (yah, ik, even though its not). But, where my big concern is, Disney will think this "clever" idea of keeping the maelstrom but instead just incorporating the characters in different scenes, like a princess at the first scene after the hill or another welcoming you back down after the drop. *sigh*

What part isn't true? Is Norway mentioned in the film? Are the sisters presented as being Norwegian?

I haven't seen the film, but from what I gather they are from some sort of fictional kingdom created from an amalgam of Scandinavian cultures that includes Norway.
Norway is not mentioned once, not at all. Norway is never spoken of. The troll twins just lack oxygen to the brain and cannot comprehend that INSPIRED BY does not mean TAKES PLACE IN.... But then again, they don't know the difference between rumors and facts..

Are are people even debating these turds? Ignore them, they will go away...

Not really a false rumor...
There is truth there. It's just a matter of details.
The detail at issue is his repeated assertion that they were actually going to rename the Norway pavilion in WS and rename the pavilion 'Arendelle'.

To resume.. something IS happening.
and IT INVOLVES NORWAY and FROZEN.. but the scope-range of the whole process is still "under consideration".

correct?

false rumor according to who? only you and the other guy?
From the info trickling in to me, yes...something is happening. Still trying to get specifics.

This is the time of year where budgets are looked for the upcoming fiscal year, and projects are pitched for consideration. Your project gets picked, you remain employed until (likely) it's finished. Your project doesn't get funded...you start polishing up the ol' resume.

Aside from how it fits in WS (or doesn't) the success will largely be based on how they retrofit the ride. The Mike and Sully ride at CA is largely successful but it is probably easier there because the basic dark ride system makes more sense than a boat ride through Frozen. I would assume it would be more like this than an overlay like the HM, which is neat as a special attraction but is not something I would want to see as a permanent ride.

There is a good chance it is largely disappointing, both to people who don't want to see Maelstrom replaced and those who might expect more from a new ride based on something so popular.

That is not at all how it is portrayed. Norway is actually shown in the film. It is more than just the settings and behavior being inspired by that of Norway. They actually show Norwegian landmarks such as Akershus and Nidaros cathedral. The movie clearly takes place in what is now Norway.

false rumor according to who? only you and the other guy who have no story, no credibility vs a group of persons who have sources and proven leaks turned true or mostly true?
It was a false rumor according to the guy who presented it as fact.

I've seen nothing to indicate that is accurate. They aren't going that far.

I also think Pheneix retracted that assertion, but he can speak for himself.
He did retract that. He argued that it was a done deal at least three times and then he backed off of it.

Sort of reminds me of the Bogon bureaucracy about destroying planet earth. "No sense, we had our complain department available to humans, which was installed in the bogon galaxy billions of lights away and noone complained"

That's Vogon's, with a V.

Hi! Not being a pain in the rear, where/when in the film were these landmarks shown? I've seen the film twice and I did not notice these references. Screencaps would help, if anyone can find them.

Hey Lee - I heard the Norwegian government wasn't all too keen on having a Frozen attraction replace Maelstrom. Is that still a factor in the approval of this project? Or has the Norwegian government given the "OK" for the re-do?

Maybe we can put some of this FROZEN TAKES PLACE IN NORWAY to rest cause here is a fact:

"The film's animators visited an Ice Hotel in Quebec, Canada to study how light reflects and refracts on snow and ice. For the film's setting, the animators used the landscape of Norway and the feel of the winter season of Wyoming for inspiration."

Frozen takes place in Norway just as much as it takes place in Canada and Wyoming. I.E. IT DOESN'T TAKE PLACE IN NORWAY.. Norway's landscape was simply used as INSPIRATION... Huge difference. Now that we put that to rest, Frozen does not belong in Norway...

And the same could be said about what you've been pushing as well....
What have I been pushing? The personal belief that Frozen would make a good fit for Norway? The idea that maybe they could out a frozen ride there and a ride-exit giftshop? Perhaps have a meet and greet like the do with other princesses in WS? That perhaps Anna and Elsa could be added to the princess offerings at the Akershus character meals?

The difference between my expressing my opinions on these ideas and what that one person did when he repeatedly declared that it was a done deal that they were going to officially remove Norway from the pavilion and make it an actual 'Arendelle' pavilion is that I clearly was giving my personal opinion and he presented his as actual news from the company. A done deal.
