Frozen at Disney's Hollywood Studios for the summer?

I see where you're coming from but I think the best thing to do with Hollywood Studios would be to sort of take inspiration from what Universal Studios did with Springfield and Diagon Alley. Immerse people in the worlds of the IP and move away from the studio theme. Disney could easily do this with Pixar, Frozen and Star Wars in Hollywood Studios. To be perfectly honest though I would be fine with anything that involves keeping Maelstrom.

I agree. It should be a celebration of the movies. There's nothing about these IPs that aren't movie-based.

The working studio idea is long-gone and referring to it now in shows generally just endures an eye roll anyway.

I think it will cut the crowds from MK. MK is more young kids who would want to see A&E.
People are going to go to MK no matter what. Right now, DHS and DAK are the two weakest parks in terms of rides and things to do and if someone is thinking of cutting one of those so they can spend extra time of at Universal, DAK is gonna be out of luck now.

I know people will go to the Magic Kingdom on every trip. But I think instead of 2 full days they may spend a morning on the second day at MK and the afternoon at DHS. It is also possible some may just add a day at WDW instead of one of the other Orlando parks. I think the most likely park to suffer is Sea World.

Sea World is already suffering big time. Sea World saw a drop of 5% in attendance this past year if you believe the TEA numbers and all of the other Sea World Parks saw losses as well. I wouldn't be surprised if we hear that they are filing for bankruptcy within the next few years.

The company is hurting bad for money right now and their two most recent additions in Florida, Antarctica (Sea World) and Falcon's Fury (Busch Gardens) haven't helped. Antarctica was panned by just about everyone who rode it and Falcon's Fury is almost two months past when it was supposed to open already.

Maybe not a Frozen "land" at DHS (I still think Pixar movies need such an area or at least Carsland…) but a ride with something else adjacent - a play area for the kids similar to the Honey I Shrunk the Kids area at DHS would be nice. And put Olaf in it - the way they did with Crush in EPCOT. DHS needs something else to get little kids there besides the Toy Story ride and the Disney Junior on stage.

Well, I think the recent documentary Blackfish didn't help. Also, Sea World, if someone comes out with a documentary that might cast you in a negative light, DO NOT run an ad campaign about how untrue it is, as that's only going to drive people to go see it.

Stock is trying to be sourced from inside and outside the company from the east coast to the west coast. Anyone who has anything suitable is being targeted with cost not the main concern.

Particularly difficult with the calibre of shell required being tied up for 4th shows across the nation already.
So, the famous Rozzi's may be included in a Disney show, nice. The Riverfest fireworks Labor Day weekend are one of the best displays going.

Also to add on to that, Sea World has been plagued by the Blackfish back lash (for some good reasons, others not so great). A BIG portion of the loss in attendance stems back to Blackfish.

And if you've seen Tilikum on the whale cam - it's hard to ever want to walk in Sea World's gates again.
The thing is though, i'm not sure how much Blackfish really affected last year's attendance, which is why I didn't mention it. It didn't start picking up steam with the media and with all the artists dropping out of the bands, brew & BBQ until late 2013.

Sea World Orlando will be fine. Even in a worse case scenario they will be able to join with other attractions as part of a package for the budget minded or those who just can't afford lengthier stays at the major resorts. So I could imagine an entire niche of tourists opting for single days at Disney and Uni and splitting their remaining time along I-Drive, the beach, and less expensive but still fun attractions. More are being added all the time. LEGOLAND, smaller parks and rides near Uni, outlet malls, new state of the art indoor go-karts, KSC, Gatorland, dinner shows, new Titanic venue, and special events in Orlando. I am sure I am forgetting others. And more are always being announced.

It's kinda funny how Star Wars Land is always brought up as a Potter-swatter when Disney could build a Frozen land it would be just as huge. Home-grown IP!

My 4 year old just asked me last night (prior to me hearing about this) when they were going to build a Frozen ride.... They really need to make a whole mini-land for this. My preference would be MK but DHS needs attractions more.

Heck, find a way to build both SW Land and Frozen land in the DHS, easily border them side by side with a Hoth like environment as the connection point.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Could also make use of the Imperial Walker as long as they cover the back side of it to make it fully themed.

As long as it is air conditioned.....

Agreed. I think Sea World's bigger problem is that their last two new E-tickets (Turtle Trek and Antarctica) were bombs, while the one before that (Manta) is the most polarizing coaster in Orlando. Shows are getting stale too--how long have Clyde and Seymore invaded Pirate Island now? A decade? And as impressive as Blue Horizons is, it has to be even older.

I agree with most of what you said here - EXCEPT the point about Turtle Trek being an E-ticket. If that's an E, SDMT is off the charts.

Turtle Trek is no more than a C imo. Not even a good one either.

Sea World's problem is very similar to DHS. Too few rides, too many shows.

They sold it as such, with billboards and what-not. And it had 60 - 90 minute waits when it opened. But yeah, I should've put E-ticket in quotes.

Agreed the park needs more rides--Atlantis also needs a complete refurb, and the simulator at Wild Arctic could stand an upgrade as well. Honestly, I think the best thing for it would be to be bought by a more experienced park operator.
