Frozen at Disney's Hollywood Studios for the summer?

I love this idea but am very disappointed that it's only running until the beginning of September. Our Disneymoon is on September 12th :-(. Wonder what they have planned after the first?

Thats a much better idea than the "Rock your Summer Side" party....
They have gone from an event that really does nothing, to something that will actually bring people into the park.

Only downside I see, is the closures to the fallout zone around the back of the park. But I would far rather take the fireworks.

Now we just need the hat to go bye-bye so we can get a better view of the Studios fireworks that are now become more and more regular.

It is heading into a quiet period, so my best guess would be it will end on Sep 1 and will not continue on.

My bad. Must have mistaken The Magic Kingdom with DHS.

Eh... personally, I think that it's all still a bit much lol... but then again, I'm not a huge fan of Frozen. I know overall attendance will go up at HS, since so many people are crazed with Frozen right now (or at least have kids who are that way), but honestly, if I was going to Disney between now and September 1, I'd probably be avoiding HS unless I wanted to check out the fireworks. So yeah, for me personally, this would be overkill, but I can see how for families with kids in the right age groups, this would easily be a whole-day affair.

There will be no meet and greet for Frozen at DHS, at least right away.

That is a ridiculous major, major FAIL.

Certainly they have time to put together a 2-room meet and greet (in order to have at least 2 sets of Anna and Elsa – 3 counting breaks) somewhere in DHS to take the pressure off of the other m&g at MK.

Having all of this at DHS but not having a meet & greet there is one of the silliest things I've seen TDO do – and the list of ridiculousness is a mile long.

Can you imagine how many furious people there will be?

I have to agree. I'm not sure that having a show and fireworks really replaces the idea of actually getting to meet the characters. At least it wouldn't be enough for me if I was a kid who wanted to meet them.

Better fit than Epcot, but between Wandering Oaken's ice rink and Jack Sparrows Jack Sparrow thing, I can't help but wonder if Pixar Place will ever really come into its own.

Though it would be neat to feature a cameo by the hapless Knick-Knack snowman...

Frozen started in Epcot. Them went to MK. Now DHS so AK would be next. That's if they rotate but AK doesn't work.

Of course it works...the EE Yeti has been frozen for years.
You could say that TDO has....let it go.

That's exactly how I feel. The events will definitely boost attendance at HS and I think that's great, but in my opinion it's, as you said, a little overkill.

These events at DHS ongoing through the summer are fantastic. TDO should be applauded for getting this done so quickly.

We often complain that they aren't doing enough. This is the first time I can remember when they've actually been proactive.

Then they go half-assed and don't include a meet and greet? The whole park is being turned into "FROZENLAND" but hey, don't expect to see the characters there.

Stupid, just stupid.

I wonder If they will extend it further if its a hit.
I mean they did the same with the lion king show's "temporal" place.

I kinda doubt it. Once summer is over, attendance will drop. Events like this are expensive. I can't imagine they'll want the expense of nightly fireworks for the fewer people who will be there come September.

SoA will also start its annual Osborne makeover then as well. I could see the show at the Premiere Theater continuing, but that will probably be it.

I have the same feelings on Frozen. I have been shocked at how popular it's become. I saw it when it first opened and thought..."A bit better than Tangled, but it ain't no Lion King". Broader public opinion clearly disagrees with us. Given that, I can't argue with what Disney is doing here. My 4 year old son is a big fan of Frozen, so if we were down there, there's no doubt we'd hit every part of this thing. Thankfully, he thinks M&G's are kind of silly, so we won't have to wait 3 hours to meet Elsa and Anna ever.

What chaos.

Whilst a new display and something new at all is very welcome, this knee jerk reaction is causing mayhem. Two weeks to prepare and program a new display. No stock. Shells being sourced from anywhere at not regular prices. Someone upstairs said make it happen without understanding how it happens.

I dare say no two shows will be identical.

Right. It's all about appealing to the target demographic... in this case, I'm probably not it lol. Nothing wrong with that. If I had kids, I'd probably feel differently about the whole thing. But for me personally? Nah... I think I'd skip it.
