Frozen at Disney's Hollywood Studios for the summer?

Would love to see a fireworks show be part of this.

I'm slightly skeptical due to the fact it closes the rear of the park to accommodate the fallout zone. But they could of course do it weekends, or on a limited timetable in the style of Star Wars Weekends.

In terms of doing it quickly, they have some very talented pyro people on staff. Brad Cicotti has extensive experience in creating shows quickly and I am sure would love the opportunity.

Another issue could be pyro supply. Ordering for the shows is typically done months in advance of when they need the product. They may of course be able to use some stockpiles for conventions and other special events.

Sounds interesting, I hope Disney create something in the theme of Frozen as it has become the best selling animated film of all time and has to be my favourite too.

In all fairness, they are a business. Would it be smarter for them to waste the opportunity to make that money altogether? I'm as sick of Frozen as anyone else who isn't obsessed with it, but I can't blame TWDC for trying to cash in while they can.

Yes, you make a great point and I'm not arguing with the cash grab, they are a business and can ask what they feel the market will bear. You have a great trip report about your first stay at Pop Century. But what if you were planning to go back and discovered they replaced the giant bowling pin with a giant Olaf and raised the room rate to $550 a night? Not saying they shouldn't, just saying it begins to show how much we value profit over all else.

Oh, I agree that something like that would be very tacky indeed, at best... but then again, did DCL have a Norwegian cruise before Frozen became so popular? If so, then that's a perfectly fair comparison, assuming rates for the cruise skyrocketed because of Frozen. If not, then IMO it's not quite the same thing.

I do fully agree with you that it's sad that we value profit so much over all else, but on some level that's just about any company these days.

Fireworks will be happening. Nightly. During the whole summer. From my sources it may not necessarily be a blank check but the higher ups know what it will cost to get this done & they've approved it. They are looking to schedule the same # of people for fireworks each night as they did for the SWW fireworks. So that should at least give you and idea of the size & scope of the show each night

Oh, and one more thing. A certain soundstage might be needing a zamboni very soon.

Without being specific on sources, do you have a timetable? Is the "launch by july 4th" going to be anywhere near realistic?

Wow. I know you guys complain about rushed together, but I'm sure it's miles above what I saw at Moody Gardens last year.

Attractions (good ones at least) take years to develop, design, and construct. I'm sure once Disney realized how much of a success Frozen was going to be they got people on an attraction, but there's no way it would be ready by now, the movie hasn't even been out a year. Also they typically like to wait a little while before pouring tens of millions into a new attraction to see if the movie has staying power (which clearly this one does).

In the meantime I see no problem with a Frozen fireworks show, I think it would be extremely popular at DHS and a great alternative to Fantasmic. DHS already has the infrastructure for it. Heck, if Disneyland Paris had an Enchanted fireworks show I see no reason DHS can't have a Frozen one!
