So this morning we were woken up by Hope – who was flipping out!

You see, we had gotten into a routine every night where Hope would say, “goodnight” to the bus pulling away at the bus stop before we walked back to our room. Okay it sounds weird, but whatever, we are weird. However, I should have known better to let ANYTHING become routine for Hope… The night before, she had fallen asleep in her stroller and we didn't wake her up when we got back to the hotel. When she woke up in morning, she went nuts – she missed that step – and had to complete it. It was way too quick a reaction for me to even contemplate what was happening. All I knew was I was walking with a tearful eyed Hope to the bus stop, in my pj’s to say a “goodnight”. On our way back she wanted ice cream and I, still half asleep, had no problem with that. Lol

When we got back to the room, we had sad mail hanging on our door.

After we all got ready, we left for the Magic Kingdom around 9 o’clock.

A double bus pulled up and we had no problem getting seats.

All was good with the world until…

Hope had had a tough time with the dreaded omnimover rides this trip. Even those she loved in the past gave her a great deal of anxiety. Whenever, they stopped or paused, she would have trouble. Having her i-pod helped somewhat, but she still struggled.

As we boarded Peter Pan, I had wanted to ride with her, but she wanted to ride with daddy. I was hesitant – I love my hubby and he is the BEST dad I could ask for, but he doesn’t always handle situations like this the best.

Unfortunately, the ride stopped midway. By the time we got off, Hope was a MESS. She was inconsolable. She wanted to do it again – to “fix it”. I didn’t have a problem with that – I could get a return time, but she was such a mess, she needed (Ross wanted her) to go NOW! I would have made her wait – but Ross was freaking out just as much as she was! I walked up to the CM and explained what was going on. I asked if I could ride with Hope immediately. He took a look at Hope and asked how many was in our party. I told him 4, but only Hope and one other person had to ride. He motioned to another CM and then he waved for us to all go through right to the front of the ride and board. I started to tear up as I thanked him. And I was sure to make sure I rode with Hope. It was a tough ride through. I held my breath hoping the ride would not stop. I was relieved that it did not. When we exited, Ross started to backtrack and say how we should have had a better plan… ummm.. we had the best plan we could have. Autism can be very unpredictable – no matter how “planned” you are, things can go wrong. Ross kept going on and on as we walked, finally I had enough and turned around and said, “Can we just blame it on Captain Hook and move on?” He did and we were able to continue our day. Yet, I wondered if Hope would ever be able to enjoy these rides or if the omni-movers would always affect her in a negative way.

Hope wanted to do Small World and Mickey’s Philharmagic one more time. And then Julia wanted to say goodbye to the monster world. Then we said our goodbyes to MK. We were going to hop to Epcot to eat through some of our remaining dining credits.

We walked up to the monorail and was on our way. Hope managed okay on the monorail. We were able to keep her distracted and it helped that there were no delays in our journey.

We said our last hello and goodbye to Figment.

Let the feasting begin!

Our last ride of the trip was SOARIN. Hope was done for the day, so Ross took her on ahead and waited for us by the bus stop.

IMG_4975.JPG

Then it was time to say goodbye to EPCOT.

IMG_4987.JPG

We made sure Hope was awake to say "goodnight" to the bus. We visited the food court, filled our mugs and then went back to the room. Everyone went to sleep, but I stayed up and packed most of our stuff up while listening to Stacey. I was so hoping that they would re-vamp her must-do show for 2020.

It was a long trip, but somehow it still went so fast!!

Tomorrow we planned to just relax at POP before our flight. Ross still had a park ticket so he was off to EPCOT to used some of our remaining dining credits! lol

Guys… I’m gonna do it!!!!!

September 21, 2019

I was up at 6:30 and finished getting us packed up. I also got an alert that our flight was delayed 2 hours. I notified Magical Express and requested that they change our time because we did not want to be at the airport for 5 hours! I was surprised that they gave us a herd time! They did not want to change our return time.

We brought our luggage to Magical Express and then headed to the food court for breakfast.

Hope and I toured the resort – her request. We swam in each of the 3 pools and just chilled out for the last few hours.

Julia went over to AoA to do the drawing class one last time. We were able to get a late check out – so at 12:30 we gathered our stuff and hung around the pool until it was time to go.

At some point, I got a drink, but it was way too sweet!

Hope (unsuccessfully) tried one more time to ride. lol

Ross got back from EPCOT and got candy for our remaining credits.

As we flew home, we already began making plans for 2020. The boy agreed to come with us and we were excited to try out a suite at ASMusic! The girls and I would be coming out early again and Hope had delusions of getting a night or two at The Contemporary Resort. Julia picked out the restaurants that she wanted to go with the boy. Hope was so excited to be able to swim again at Blizzard Beach.

And then the world changed…. and Disney changed too...and it may never be the same…. :(

For those of you who have stuck with me for the past four years waiting for this TR to finish I thank you!!! It’s amazing the bonds of friendships I feel for so many of you, even though we have never met. And for those of you I have had the privilege to meet in WDW – it’s been so magical!!

Thank you again for reading and going along with my crazy crew. And of course, if you are up for more lunacy with us you can find it here…
