WDW was awesome...
Friday night we didn't get to Epcot until just before the 10:30 fireworks, but spent that time getting my APs upgraded to Premium Annual Passes to get the 20% merchandise discount (which Disney promptly took away from PAP members on 1/1/13), we barely saw the holiday portion of Holiday Illuminations (it was raining and the crowds were pouring out), but Tasha got 'phase 1' of her buy anything she wants Christmas shopping done.
Saturday we slept in, caught Wreck-It Ralph, Rise of the Guardians and
Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away 3D , then went to the Arabian Nights Christmas Show.
The Beautiful Waterfall outside of the Beast's Castle
Sunday, we went to the Magic Kingdom and saw New Fantasyland, enjoying the Little Mermaid ride 3 times and ate lunch in the Beast's castle. Belle's cottage was a 2 hour wait all day, so we enjoyed Mickey's Philharmagic, the Christmas parade, the Castle Christmas show, the regular Castle show, Peter Pan, Hall of Presidents, Country Bear Jamboree, Tiki Room, and later the People Mover, Carousel of Progress and the Tomorrowland Christmas show. Tasha also got phase 2 of her buy anything she wants Christmas shopping done. Then we found the parking lot between Tomorrowland and Mainstreet was open with a DJ (who she knew from all the dance parties she attended at the many MNSSHPs and MVMCPs we went to) and several rows of chairs were set up, so we sat back and enjoyed the music and an unobstructed view of Christmas Wishes in the sparsely populated parking lot (instead of standing shoulder to shoulder out on Mainstreet). It was such a great wide open spot we even got to watch Tinkerbell land...right over there! We then headed back to the Polynesian where we relaxed in the lobby until it was time for the 11:50 NYEveEve fireworks (shot on the 30th and 31st). We watched the resort fireworks, park fireworks, and the encircling fireworks quietly and comfortably from 2 lounge chairs on the beach with 2 new fleece blankets keeping us warm that we bought for only $19 with 2 - $40 purchases.
I kept calling this guy Fix-it-Felix
Monday, we went to Hollywood Studios, had a very expensive lunch (holiday pricing, discounts disabled) at Hollywood and Vine, but that fed us for the day. It was a madhouse, so we didn't get a lot done attraction wise, and it was getting nearly impossible to move around by 11pm as they were sending everyone down the main street towards the entrance and had closed off sections of the park for fireworks safety. So as we headed out we decided to take up a spot right at the entrance where there was still a little room left where we waited for midnight. As it turns out we had the best spot in the park, because THIS year DHS not only sent up fireworks up behind the Chinese Theater, they also sent up fireworks from behind each of the buildings lining up main street throughout the show, so we could see it all, and it was spectacular!!!
Tuesday, we slept in all day.
Wednesday we checked out of the Magic Castle, caught the early Wreck-It Ralph, Rise of the Guardians and
Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away 3D again, then checked into the Pop Century, 90's, 4th floor room 8408, overlooking the pool. That evening to Tasha's delight, we went to DHS to see Fantasmic again.
Thursday, taking advantage of our early entry, we arrived at the Magic Kingdom at 7:30am (the earliest we've arrived there in the last decade) and headed straight back to Belle's Cottage only to find a 2 hour wait again, drats...and fastpass down for Little Mermaid. We still saw LM twice and ate again at the Beast's Castle. During the 'regular' 3pm parade,
Prince Naveen saw us again from the float (he had also recognized us from the Christmas parade on Sunday), and motioned for us to visit him at his meet and greet. So after the parade passed, we bee-lined over to Liberty Square where he saw us again (slightly confused) as the parade passed by there later, and he motioned us again. We know THIS Prince Naveen from the many times we visited him after the movie came out, he even saw and waved to us from the Riverboat show they did back then (AND THEY SHOULD BRING BACK). Unfortunately, he wasn't at the 4pm meet and greet, but we managed to return for the 5:20pm meet and greet and we had a great reunion. He was really in the groove that day with his head bobbing up and down throughout the parade and during the meet and greets. I did a lot of good Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom card trading that day, too, now I only need about 5 more cards for a complete collections (sans the lightening cards). We left early to get ready for our date with our 8th
Cirque du Soleil La Nouba show at 9pm.
Friday, we slept in, checking out at noon and had lunch at T-Rex shopped a little then headed home at about 4pm stopping at the Disney Outlet in Fort Myers to buy a Wreck-It Ralph and
Vanellope talking dolls that we couldn't find in Orlando.
