Free Dining Pins are out for summer

For July 1 through August 13.

Of course, we didn't get one. I get it, Disney is a business, blah blah blah. But I must say - It es me off that we NEVER get a pin code. Granted, we go twice a year, so they don't need to "bribe" us there. But it'd sure as hell be nice when I called to see if we had the pin attached to our name if they said "No sir, you don't. But you know what - You're a faithful guest who comes every year, are dropping close to $9,000 on your resort stay with us this summer. Let me see what I can do about helping you a bit with the free dining that we're giving to guests who haven't been here in 10 years."

Again, I get it. They know we're gonna come regardless, but the absolute lack of benefits or rewards they show to repeat customers is astounding to me.

Awwww dang, Kidd! Sorry you haven't gotten one yet. Hhhmmm... have you hit all the usual suspects for getting on the magic-email-list? Requested the planning dvd, double-checked your registration info on the website, called to make sure there's nothing attached to your name, saved some potential itineraries online without booking, etc.???? I feel ya. That IS a lot of money to spend without even a nod from the mouse. I hope you get a pleasant surprise soon....

How do you get a pin or know about them? We go a few times a year as well, and have stayed on site everytime we have gotten a promotion. But we don't always get them, and never have gotten a dining promo. what gives?

When I say we are on every Disney email list there is, I mean it. Both me and my wife. Disney says it's random. I say they're full of you know what.

If you don't go - You'll get pin codes and special offers enticing you to go.
If you do go, you won't get squat.

It basically works in the exact opposite way any reward or loyalty program works.

Kidd, I agree that maybe a program for repeat visitors with different levels of perks such as the Disney Cruise Line does with the Castaway Club would be nice. I've been to WDW with reservations in either my name or my hubby's name 9 times in roughly 8 years. I get pins but not every one of them. Since the first of the year I think I've gotten 2, neither were for free dining. I didn't get any for a long time and I thought the random bit was bologna, too, but then I started getting them. When I did it seemed like a LOT of them which was weird but cool. The funny thing is I don't think I've ever used a pin code. I generally do the AP or FL resident discounts. I hope you get something. Maybe in the coming weeks some discounts will pop up somewhere and you'll get a break.

My best friend just received this pin code! Which makes me happy because we are all going together this summer! Free dining works for me! This is her first trip in over 10 years and her first pin code. As for me, it's my 6th trip in 4 years and I didn't receive the pin code. :brick:

I get my pin codes off the Disney site by filling in what months I'm planning on visiting WDW and by who we're bringing. That simple. We receive pins quite often for one offer or another. We don't go to WDW every 90 days like so many here, but we try to make it at least once a year for the past 30. If you're going twice or more in one year you'll save a lot more by getting an AP rather than what you'd save off a pin code.

Of course, I did receive this helpful email from Disney today:

You are receiving this message because you asked for occasional updates, special offers, and information from the Walt Disney family of companies.

Kidd if it makes you feel any better I just my first 2 pin codes about 6 months ago (both within like 4 weeks) and I already had a trip booked for 8/11. When I called about them they were of NO savings to me..they would have cost me MORE money to use them. Then when the general public offers were released I called and it saved me over $400!!! So they are not all that great of a deal and your really not missing anything. I could only see a pin code helping me if it came when i had nothing planned and had some extra cash for spur of the moment get a way with DH....and I know that will never happen :)

Don't get me wrong - I'll be fine with an AP discount or a General discount if they come out. It just rubs me the wrong way that we don't get pins because we go so often. Like I said, I get why they don't send them to us, but it's so messed up.

I think my favorite part of your posts is that you always include the impressive amount of money you, errr, I mean you daddy spends at Disney.

I hope that conversation isnt quote exactly and badly paraphrased. You dont have enough time in the day to convince me that a CM or Guest Relations would use "are dropping close to $9,000 on your resort stay with us this summer. Let me see what I can do about helping you a bit...." especially to you.

I think you are too young to use that type language too. Where is the soap.

Was it necessary to be this rude?

I think you have me confused with someone else. I'm 34 years old, married with 3 children.
