If you book through an agent, your odds are greatly increased to apply new discounts and codes to existing reservations.
POR was offered with the pin code. We were already booked and had to switch when it wasn't part of the general public offer, got the pin code but stayed with Coronado Springs. Glad we did, we loved it!You are correct. That's exactly what happened last fall at POR ~ enough people booked in anticipation of free dining that Disney did not offer free dining at POR.
Actually that is not always true. Last year when free dining was released I called to get it added to our reservation I spent a total of about 30 minutes on hold and got ours booked no problem. My friend who is a travel agent was calling to add it on for his clients spent 5 hours on hold on the travel agent line and was not able to get it for all of his clients, he had to have a couple of them upgrade their rooms to get it because by the time he got through they were all gone for that room type. It seems there are a lot more agents available on the general public line than the travel agent number. It all worked out though. I think the real key is calling as soon as the offer is released so you can get it before room types are all gone.If you book through an agent, your odds are greatly increased to apply new discounts and codes to existing reservations.
So if I am already booked at POR for Dec. 17-26 and they offer the Free Dining at a different resort, might I be able to change our reservations to a different resort??? If I could I could possibly have a FREE trip ... 200 Disney $$$ deposit already made, 1776 Disney $$$ on my card, $1200 in gift cards and $800 on my Discover card (I'll purchase more gift cards with those) .... so if they offer free dining .... my entire trip (resort/tickets/food) will be free. You are correct. That's exactly what happened last fall at POR ~ enough people booked in anticipation of free dining that Disney did not offer free dining at POR.
If POR doesn't offer free dining during your stay, you can switch resorts to one that does and has availability for your dates. So if I am already booked at POR for Dec. 17-26 and they offer the Free Dining at a different resort, might I be able to change our reservations to a different resort??? My family and I stayed at POR in October of last year and got free dining. You are correct. That's exactly what happened last fall at POR ~ enough people booked in anticipation of free dining that Disney did not offer free dining at POR.
Did you have a PIN code? Because the general public offer did not include POR for free dining. My family and I stayed at POR in October of last year and got free dining.
In the UK I have already had an offer for free dining for most of 2016. sorry to rub it in.
I think that it does show that this is a marketing tool that Disney are going to continue to use despite the increase in visitor numbers.
Yes you can always upgrade as long as the availability is there.I have a room booked at ASM currently with the dining package paid out of pocket, if and when they decide to offer free dining, will it be possible to change to a moderate (CBR) with free dining ?
Hi Everyone, I am a travel agent in Canada and have just been informed that Free Dining will be available to book for Canada/US residents on April 27th, don't know the travel dates yet but I will keep you posted
