Free Dining 2015?

We have been able to add free dining to our reservations the last four years with no problems and we did it for the week of Thanksgiving (the key was our arrival date was while free dining was still going on) I have found if you just call as soon as it is released and have patience for the enormous hold time you are going to have to endure you should have no problems.

You are correct. That's exactly what happened last fall at POR ~ enough people booked in anticipation of free dining that Disney did not offer free dining at POR.
POR was offered with the pin code. We were already booked and had to switch when it wasn't part of the general public offer, got the pin code but stayed with Coronado Springs. Glad we did, we loved it!

If you book through an agent, your odds are greatly increased to apply new discounts and codes to existing reservations.
Actually that is not always true. Last year when free dining was released I called to get it added to our reservation I spent a total of about 30 minutes on hold and got ours booked no problem. My friend who is a travel agent was calling to add it on for his clients spent 5 hours on hold on the travel agent line and was not able to get it for all of his clients, he had to have a couple of them upgrade their rooms to get it because by the time he got through they were all gone for that room type. It seems there are a lot more agents available on the general public line than the travel agent number. It all worked out though. I think the real key is calling as soon as the offer is released so you can get it before room types are all gone.

So if I am already booked at POR for Dec. 17-26 and they offer the Free Dining at a different resort, might I be able to change our reservations to a different resort??? If I could I could possibly have a FREE trip ... 200 Disney $$$ deposit already made, 1776 Disney $$$ on my card, $1200 in gift cards and $800 on my Discover card (I'll purchase more gift cards with those) .... so if they offer free dining .... my entire trip (resort/tickets/food) will be free.

If POR doesn't offer free dining during your stay, you can switch resorts to one that does and has availability for your dates.

Is there any new info spreading for free dining this year? I'm hoping for an early may announcement. My 180 day mark is may 5 and the past few years, they've seemed to release dates around that time

Same scuttle as every year. ...IF they have it, released to Disney Visa card holders for a few days first, then released to the public. Dates undetermined as they've changed a bit over the last few years.

Many are also speculating that any fall deals won't be released until June since the current offer doesn't expire for booking until June. There are also all kinds of rumors swirling that this may be the year that they cut free dining. Again...all rumor until actual deals do or don't post.

That being said, there's almost always a room discount and if you're booking deluxe...like others have noted...if you do the math, this is often the bigger $ saver even if "room discount" doesn't have the same ring to it as "free dining."

Rumors a definitely running rampant on the free dining. As usual the Kingdom Konsultant agents are watching for confirmed information so we can take care of our clients and make sure everyone on Magic knows about it as well as our social media clientele.
As I tell my clients every year at this time, have a back up resort ready "just in case" you hotel is excluded from the offer.
Keep in mind that the following hotels/rooms have NOT been included at times and this may help you plan better. Have a back up "Just in case".
Little Mermaid rooms at Art of Animation
The Campsites at Fort Wilderness
The Villas at the Grand Floridian
Port Orleans French Quarter and at times Riverside (usually a specific time frame for Riverside)
3 bedroom Villas

I have a room booked at ASM currently with the dining package paid out of pocket, if and when they decide to offer free dining, will it be possible to change to a moderate (CBR) with free dining ?

In the UK I have already had an offer for free dining for most of 2016. sorry to rub it in.
I think that it does show that this is a marketing tool that Disney are going to continue to use despite the increase in visitor numbers.

I think Disney want the UK guests as we normally stay for 14 days and therefore spend more, so offering dining packages is just to get the UK guests over. Also UK free dining is usually only quick service at a moderate or regular dining at a deluxe. The US free dining seems to be to fill underoccupied times at select resorts, rather than to get people to go in the first place.

Hi Everyone, I am a travel agent in Canada and have just been informed that Free Dining will be available to book for Canada/US residents on April 27th, don't know the travel dates yet but I will keep you posted:)

I believe this is for Visa Cardholders. General public won't be able to book until later in the week.
