Trip Report Forget about your worries and your strife. 🌞 Live trip report.

Quick recap of my pre-trip report to refresh memories or as just as catchup.
I (Mimi) am going on a solo trip to Disney World, 14 glorious days at AKL to do what I want, when I want.:joyfull:

This morning I woke up excited and ready to go, I threw the last things into my suitcase, double checked everything and happily went out in the rain to catch the bus to the train station. I gave myself plenty of time to get to the airport incase of delays etc. but luckily everything went smoothly and I arrived at the airport with plenty of time to share.
I looked around the shops a bit and took some photos to kill the time.

These cups in a cafe don't spin but are cute none the less.

Finally it was time to board my first flight.

This add made me smile as it was spot on.:)

The flight from Amsterdam to London was only 50 minutes and kind of boring except for the 2 Dutch ladies sitting in the row behind me. They were very unhappy that none of the flight attendants spoke Dutch, keep in mind that this was a British Airways flight, and complained loudly that it shouldn't be allowed for airlines to fly out of Amsterdam without at least one Dutch speaking crew member and the ladies refused to speak English to the crew. I didn't understand their logical at all and was happy the crew members didn't understand what they were saying. I was tempted to turn around to point out their stupidity but refrained. 🙊

Soon enough we landed safely at Gatwick, my hotel was easy to find and the check in staff were friendly and professional. My room is as expected, small and modern.

The shower is right in front of the toilet without a barrier:hilarious: not the best layout but fine for just a night.

No view as my room doesn't have a window.
Now I am just watching some TV, wishing it was tomorrow.:)

I wish I could say I posed that ride photo but that was my actual reaction.
That makes it even BETTER!!!! T and I are always posing, but my absolute favorite ride pic of him is when he just hit 48” and went on a ‘big’ rollercoaster for the first time.. we planned a pose- he didn’t do it. His face was sheer terror. It was wonderful.ha ha.

Real scared photos are the best!!!

Awesome photo on Rock'n. :jawdrop::joyfull: We have a similar expression of my DD around 4 years old on The Tower. Long before photopass and the photo's were pricey to buy individually so we normally did not. We bought that one. Priceless! Nice that you captured another giraffe for Mrs. @Mr Ferret 88 Seems the animals are coming out now that the frozen tundra seems to have passed. So jealous that you were able to see the new hippo. I am so in love with Fiona, she stole my heart so I'm glad there is another baby hippo star. Hope you nab a photo of the new baby tigers haven't seen any updates in a while.

Thanks @Tuvalu I will try and find them.

FYI Both my fall and winter trips Dino Photo's never came up nor could they be found. We rode Dino many times each trip and nothing.

We did AK this am. Arrived in park at 830. By the time we hit avatar it was wrapped around to Africa. I mentioned to my dad I did noticed people on the walkway when coming into avatar last time we were here. It was up to 170 mins by 930.

We also did bugs life waiting for dino FP. It was delightful listening to the littles roaring !

We might have passed each other without knowing. I still think with a FP for FoP and an early start you can get everything done.

I will certainly try and see the tiger cubs as I love baby animals. I also saw the baby elephant but couldn't get a good picture. Out on the savannah at the hotel is a baby giraffe but it is also camera shy, still nice to know it is walking around close by.

I wasn't ready to call it a night even though HS was now closed so I made my way over to EPCOT for EMH. First stop wason SSE.

Judy Dench has the perfect voice to narrate history.

Next up was Soarin, this took longer then I was expecting nearly 35 minutes waiting time.
For some reason B glider's first row was kept empty.

I love Soarin so didn't mind the wait.

After my flight I walked to WS, EPCOT at night is pretty so I didn't want to rush. I stopped by the Mexican pavilion. Great artwork on the wall there.

And a sweet Coco display.

The boat ride was a walk on which made the decision to hop on an easy one. I love the Donald pinata.:inlove:

Time had flown and it was now 10.35 so I quickly went to Norway to get in line for FEA. It was fun to see the que .

Soon it was my turn to float thru Arendelle.

When I finished FEA it was after 11pm so everything was closed. I walked to China just to look around and wanted to continue around all of WS to take the long way home but a CM asked me where I was staying, and then informed me I had to go back towards the exit.
I did have good luck with the bus as one was pulling up just as I was walking up. I started chatting to a nice woman from Pennsylvania and in no time we were back at Jambo House.

I didn't go to bed until 1.30 am so the plan was to sleep in this morning. Well that was wishful thinking on my part. At 6.45am a very excited little girl was shouting loudly in the hallway for her parents to hurry up because she was going to eat breakfast with the princesses. It was sweet to hear how happy she sounded.
It took a little while but I managed to drift off again only to awoken again at 8.05 by mousekeeping.
Clearly sleeping in wasn't in the cards today so I took it as a sign that Mickey was missing me. :)

Since I had a brownie and ice cream for dinner last night I made an effort to have a healthy breakfast.

I took my free coffee and found a good spot to watch Fantasmic.
I took zero pictures so I could just enjoy it.
On the way out I did take this photo of the back of ToT.

I was feeling a bit hungry and being a responsible adult I decided to have this for dinner.

It was a brownie with butter pecan ice cream, hot fudge and whipped cream. :hungry:
I made my way to the theater to see the Star Wars fireworks. I am not a Star Wars fan but I have seen the movies so recognized most of the characters. I liked the show, the fireworks were beautiful and well timed.
