Trip Report Forget about your worries and your strife. 🌞 Live trip report.

Quick recap of my pre-trip report to refresh memories or as just as catchup.
I (Mimi) am going on a solo trip to Disney World, 14 glorious days at AKL to do what I want, when I want.:joyfull:

This morning I woke up excited and ready to go, I threw the last things into my suitcase, double checked everything and happily went out in the rain to catch the bus to the train station. I gave myself plenty of time to get to the airport incase of delays etc. but luckily everything went smoothly and I arrived at the airport with plenty of time to share.
I looked around the shops a bit and took some photos to kill the time.

These cups in a cafe don't spin but are cute none the less.

Finally it was time to board my first flight.

This add made me smile as it was spot on.:)

The flight from Amsterdam to London was only 50 minutes and kind of boring except for the 2 Dutch ladies sitting in the row behind me. They were very unhappy that none of the flight attendants spoke Dutch, keep in mind that this was a British Airways flight, and complained loudly that it shouldn't be allowed for airlines to fly out of Amsterdam without at least one Dutch speaking crew member and the ladies refused to speak English to the crew. I didn't understand their logical at all and was happy the crew members didn't understand what they were saying. I was tempted to turn around to point out their stupidity but refrained. 🙊

Soon enough we landed safely at Gatwick, my hotel was easy to find and the check in staff were friendly and professional. My room is as expected, small and modern.

The shower is right in front of the toilet without a barrier:hilarious: not the best layout but fine for just a night.
DSC_0045.JPG

No view as my room doesn't have a window.
Now I am just watching some TV, wishing it was tomorrow.:)

I had a FP to ride a rocket, a bit shaky but I made it back to earth.
No clue where the camera was :hilarious:.

I had some time before my dinner reservation so checked out the dance party. The DJ was good and only played 30 seconds or so of popular songs. Lots of people were dancing and singing along.

Then it was time for the main event of the evening, my date with the Beast.
Dinner was fine, I started with the salad with butternut squash, cranberries and goats cheese. It was a lot of greens and very little of the toppings.
DSC_0506.JPG

My main was the Ratatouille, I forgot to take a picture. :bored:
Dessert was a strawberry cheesecake cupcake and some grey stuff the waitress gave me. My waitress was very friendly and on top of things, really excellent service I liked the grey stuff a lot, the cupcake was just okay.

Next came the real reason I wanted to have dinner here.
PhotoPass_Visiting_MK_408228975412.JPG

I'm glad I finally got to meet the Beast but it was a very hurried experience. There was a long line and the photographer just quickly snapped a pic and then you had to move on. This wasn't just me but also the families with little kids. I'm still glad I did it but it is not something I need to repeat.

During dinner I had managed to get a 4th FP for Winnie the Pooh, I made it to the front of the line with just one family ahead of me, when the ride went down. Someone had dropped something on the track and then tried to get out of the honey pot to collect it.:banghead:
It looked as if it would take awhile to fix and the young boy in front of my was clearly having some stomach issues because he stinking up the place so I decided to get out of line. I made my way to the hub and waited for HEA. This was my second time watching it and I liked it even better.:inlove:
When HEA was finished I went against the stream of people to get to the Jungle Cruise.
My skipper was Morgan and she was pretty funny. It helped that there was an appreciative audience on board so we all laughed at the silly jokes together.
I would prefer living in the castle but I could make do with this if I can live in the MK.
DSC_0509.JPG

We all made it back alive from our perilous cruise nearing closing time so I quickly got in line for my last ride of the day.
Again I had no clue were the camera was.

I am ecstatic you enjoyed rivers of light!! I cannot wait to see it tomorrow!! I think I am already so connected to the music that I will bawl my eyes out at the show, we shall see! Jealous @Doc Disney bumped into you! And sad the Beast meet and greet felt rushed, he’s so handsome and you need every minute possible with him. ;)

Thanks again for sending me photopass pictures, I’m glad you haven’t blocked me and ran far away after some of those shots :p

How was the Ratatouille? My daughters a vegetarian and she's running out of things to eat at MK.

I love Rivers of Light. I know a lot of people leave underwhelmed but just love the message and images on the water. I'm a tree hugger, maybe that's why I love it so much.
The ratatouille was nothing special but nice enough. The waitress also said that the chefs can make a vegetable pasta dish that is not on the menu. I am not a vegetarian but don't like eating a lot of meat so if there is a decent veggie option I prefer to get that.
The AK has the best vegetarian options in my opinion of all the parks, Nomad Lounge's menu had 3 really tasty options alone.

Good morning, you know when you have those perfect moments that you just want to never end? That's how I started my day.I got up just before 7, put the coffee on and sat on my balcony. There was a light fog on the ground, the sun was rising and 3 giraffes were having breakfast about 100 meters away. Some zebra and wilderbeast also strolled by.:inlove::inlove::inlove:
It was nearly impossible to get some pictures as I was photographing into the sun so this is the best I could get @Mr Ferret 88

Loving all your fun!! Have a great day!!!
Thank you! I am off to a great start. Lazy morning on the balcony with coffee. Some family drama next door, the (sounds like) teenage daughter is talking back to the mom about getting ready, mom tells her to knock it off and change her attitude. Teenager response is that mom should take one of her happy pills and leave her the bleep alone.
Apparently there is also a younger child (sounds about 4) who then stood on the balcony saying Bleep, bleep, bleep. Mom lost it completely.

If that was my kid, they would be spending the day in the room with a babysitter.

I went to see the Copper Creek villas this morning to look into DVC. It is so tempting to buy but I have to really think about it and do the math.
After the tour they dropped me off at DHS. I was in time for my first FP, a Frozen Sing Along.
DSC_0522.JPG

I don't think I got the A-team of Historians.
DSC_0524.JPG

But had fun none the less.

I browsed in the shops on my way to the bad neighborhood of Tinsel town.
I had a FP, the lift attendant goes to open the door

And

DSC_0528.JPG

40 minutes later I finally get to check in.

By the time I checked out of ToT it was way past lunch time and I was hungry. I ventured somewhere new for me, PizzeRizzo.
I can't say it was good pizza but it was strangely satisfying.
DSC_0536.JPG

With a tummy full of greasy pizza I made my way over to see an epic love story.
Every story needs a villain and this one is hilarious.
DSC_0539.JPG

Some serious drama
DSC_0543.JPG

And finally a happy ending
DSC_0544.JPG

Some of the costumes are super garish and look dated but I still enjoyed the show immensely.
Then it was time for the best ride in HS.
DSC_0550.JPG

I had a FP so only had to stand in line for 15 minutes but this que is such a fun one.

DSC_0555.JPG

This ride is slightly better when you can play against someone but I still had a blast.
DSC_0560.JPG

I enjoyed it so much that I used one of my wild fast passes I had gotten on the DVC tour to ride again.

My balcony was calling me home so I hopped on the bus, it was still light out when I came home and there were quite a few animals out and about.
DSC_0568.JPG

DSC_0570.JPG

I had another serious completely happy moment. :inlove:
Too soon the sun set and I couldn't see my hand let alone the animals which seemed like a good time to go have a drink in
DSC_0573.JPG

I only do sweet girly drinks so I ordered this.
DSC_0576.JPG

It is a frozen blend of Banana liqueur and Amarula. The waitress called it a grown up milkshake which is accurate.
They just delivered my goats cheese dip.
