Day 1, cont.
Before we left on this trip I found our old Happy Anniversary buttons from a few anniversaries ago. We proudly wore them every day of the trip even though (obviously) only one day was our actual anniversary. LOTS of CMs congratulated us and wished us a happy anniversary throughout the trip, and many remarked that Disney doesn't make those buttons anymore, opting instead for the generic Happily Ever After buttons. I'm glad we saved the Anniversary buttons!
As we began the walk to Epcot we both remarked how darn pleasant it felt outside. AKA, it was not a million degrees with a thousand percent humidity. I checked my phone weather app and it said it was 82 degrees, but it felt cooler than that.
As we reached the Boardwalk area we saw a boat pulling into the dock, so we hopped on and got front row seats!
The security line at the IG was caaaaaaaah-razy! RIP quiet IG! *insert riff-raff comment*
@wdisney9000
But finally we were in our beloved Epcot...and so was EVERYONE. ELSE.
(Don't be fooled by the empty space in the front of the photo. It was NUTS.)
By this point that airplane sandwich was a loooooong time ago and we headed straight to the Ireland booth for some CHEESE!
Um, and drinks!
Warm Irish Cheddar Cheese and Stout Dip with Irish Brown Bread (V) – $5.00
Brehon Brewhouse Killanny Red Ale – $4.50
Guinness Baileys Shake – $11.00
When I was ordering everything I paid with a gift card. The CM said, with no emotion whatsoever, "Here is your gift card balance. Congratulations." It was very amusing!
Obviously we enjoyed the cheese dip again! I enjoyed the ale and M enjoyed the shake. And in case you can't tell from the photo, there were no tables available so we settled for a good ol' trash can!
Our next stop was a booth/area we missed last time: Appleseed Orchard, in the building where O Canada usually plays.
Ugh. The last iPhone update has changed the way that the main image for a live photo is selected, and it keeps picking bad (blurry) ones. I caught and changed some of them before I uploaded them, but I missed this one.
Two wine flights, including:
- Forge Cellars Dry Riesling Classique, Seneca Lake – $7.00
- Conundrum Red Blend, California – $6.00
- Amavi Cellars Syrah, Walla Walla Valley – $9.00
- tenshən Rhône Style White Blend, Central Coast – $7.00
- Lang & Reed Wine Company Cabernet Franc, North Coast – $10.00
- Frog’s Leap Zinfandel, Napa Valley – $10.00
The two flights had a good variety. My favorite was the Cab Franc. The CM at this booth checked both of our IDs, which doesn't usually happen to us even when purchasing multiple drinks/flights.
Next we shared the cider and beer flights from the cider area. The photo didn't turn out at all, so you'll just have to believe me!
- M.I.A. Beer Company Apple Trappe Belgian-Style Tripel Ale, Doral, FL – $4.50
- Playalinda Brewing Co. Apple Pie Beer, Titusville, FL – $4.50
- Sea Dog Brewing Co. Green Apple Ale, Clearwater, FL – $4.50
- Ciderboys Lemon Cello Hard Cider, Stevens Point, WI – $4.50
- Collective Arts Brewing Cherry Apple Hard Cider, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada – $4.50
- Woodchuck Hard Cider Spiced Apple, Middlebury, VT – $4.50
M's favorite cider was the lemon, and my favorie was the Woodchuck spiced cider. I also liked the M.I.A. tripel ale. Also, at this booth we didn't get IDed at all! What if we were actually 20 instead of 30???
Up next: Food time!
