Pre-Trip First trip in 10 years for Mom & dad, Baby's first trip! Sept 15

Hello!

Welcome to my Pre-Trip report!

Admittedly, it's taken me awhile to get excited about this trip. The countdown started with about 400 days (and I still pregnant!) but here we are! My Daughter is ONE tomorrow, and we are 88 days out!
My Husband and I haven't been since we were teenagers. It's been 10 years for me and 11 years for him. We have no idea what Disney is like now, and don't really KNOW what to be excited about if that makes sense? My mother and her husband go at least twice a year, and are "taking" us this year. They will be able to show us around and explain magic bands and such. They are bringing my nephew who is 5 and has been to Disney 5x!!!

Cast:
Britt (ME!)
Anthony = DH
Harper = Our daughter(will be turning 15 months on the trip)
Gigi= My Mother
Pap= My step dad
R = My nephew (5)

WHEN:
9/19-9/25

WHERE:
Animal Kingdom Lodge!

We live in Maryland and are driving down :eek:
I'm kind of afraid of what the drive will be like with a toddler, but I guess we'll see! We are leaving Friday 9/18 about 2pm and driving as long as we can make it before we stop for the night. We will be in two different cars.

I have Celiac Disease and I'm anxious to see how the gluten free dining will be.

So that's it for now! :D

Ive been at WDW with my sis and brothers kids when they got ill , but being in the parks had them so excited with the sensory overload that it seemed to subside the effects. Granted, night time at the hotel room was a bit rough, but the parks seem to be a good remedy to make them feel better! Im sure she will be ok by the time you leave though.
This is a good point. I know she'll be okay, I just wanted her to be in the best condition she could be! If we have too, we'll load her up with motrin and proceed with our day. She's extremely clingy when she's sick and I'm not sure that I could hold a tired, sick toddler in 100 degree heat!

I actually have one!!! BUT, she won't let me get NEAR her with it! At all. So there is no chance of me getting it to work. I've tried many many times! I get so worried about the ear infection part of it, and only have a few days to decide if I should take her to the doctors or not. Considering it just started yesterday, I think I'm going to have to wait a few days.
Aww dang it. Oh well...I am sure you will still have a great time and she will be fine! After a 10 year wait, it has to be!!!! :)

Seriously? More stupid stuff.
We are taking my mom's car on vacation. We planned to go to her house this Thursday, and pick up the vehicle, and then my husband was going to pack it Friday morning while I was at work, and then come pick me up and we can get on the road.

Well, my mom just emailed me and said that she didn't know what she was thinking but she needs the car Friday morning to take her dog to be boarded. She can't put him in her van because it's packed already. So this throws everything off. My husband is already doing a LOT of running around Friday and this just makes it worse.

I have a sore throat and headache this evening *headdesk*

Trying to tell myself that it's just allergies (which it very well may be) but COME ON UNIVERSE!! This is not cool! Trying not to stress about it. Drank some emergen-C stuff, so we'll see if it helps.

Your trip sounds like it will be really fun. Our daughter came down with a terrible cough right before we left for our first Disney trip. She was four and we had to make a last minute run to the pediatrician the day before we left. The car ride was a little rough, but once we arrived the excitement carried her through. Sending healthy thoughts your way! Have a magical trip.

Thank you!!! I'm really hoping she starts feeling better! I'm sure the excitement would help her during that week, so I'm keeping that in the back of my head!

We leave in THREE DAYS!
I woke up this morning with a headache, neck hurting, and still a sore throat. It's not sore like strep sore, just weirdly scratchy and feels like there is a ball of something hanging out in the back of my throat. It's annoying. I'm drinking some airborne this morning and trying to drink as much waster as I can! My daughter woke up seeming a little better this morning! Her nose wasn't running, but she was all crusty. LOL. She's in great sprits, and still no fever, so YAY!
We have plans for the rest of the week nights before we leave! It makes it EXCITING! Tonight we are going over to my moms to Buy/Print out our Uni tickets. Tomorrow I am going to get pampered and get my nails done, Disney style! (thinking red with white polka dots) and then Thursday night we are doing all the last minute stuff! I'll clean up the house as much as I can, and lay out all of our luggage so that hubby can easily access for packing on Friday. I can't believe we are THIS close.

hey, any techies know how to make it so I can abbreviate/rename my link in my Signature without the link showing up? Just clickable words? Does this make ANY sense?

hey, any techies know how to make it so I can abbreviate/rename my link in my Signature without the link showing up? Just clickable words? Does this make ANY sense?
First: Copy the URL you want to use
Next: Type out the word(s) that you want the link to be bound to in the signature editing box
Next: Highlight the above word(s)
Next: While still highlighted, click the link icon button above the box, looks like a chain link
Next: Paste the copied URL in the pop-up box and click "insert"

You should now notice that the word(s) you bound the URL to has a different color shade, this lets you'd know it is a clickable link now.

Hope that help.

Well, It's Wednesday! We leave in TWO DAYS. I'm here at work writing up a list of last minute things my husband needs to remember to do before leaving! (It was his request, I'm really not bossy!). It's hard for me to not be there for this because, I hate not knowing if everything was done, and nothing was forgotten. Oh well, as I said, I need to go to work and wrap up all my last minute stuff.

I'm going tonight after work and getting my nails done. I'm excited about that as it's not very often that I do it, and it always feels so special! However, this is wasting an entire night at home not getting anything done. I doubt I'll get home until my husband and daughter are already in bed. Tomorrow night is going to be CRAZY. Our list of LAST MINUTE stuff is very long. We are also dealing with a 14 month old crazy gal who loves to follow behind and leave a path of destruction, so that will be fun!

I haven't been on vacation in two years (which might not sound bad, but we vacation every year until I got pregnant. When my DD was born she was too little to go anywhere) so I'm jonesing so bad for a vacation. However, as funny as it may seem, it STILL doesn't feel real! It doesn't seem real that in two days, I'm leaving Maryland and driving for Florida. It's so close that it's like a dream at this point.

AHHHHHHHH!

This is so funny because i have been saying this too since we booked our trip!

Its like you have the tripped booked and you know you are really leaving but its so surreal! I'm packing but it seems like its for a hypothetical vacation. Maybe ill finally believe once we arrive in Orlando!

So Jenn, you are leaving tomorrow right? Should I keep my eyes peeled?! (for someone I don't know what they look like! :D)

if you see me, say hi!!!
Yes! We are leaving tomorrow but stopping in Macon for the night and so we will get to FL on Friday. It's not a long drive, (especially compared to yours :)) but we figured we would take our time. Now next week when we come home we will drive straight through. We figure it will suck anyway so why not? I will definitely keep my eyes peeled!! There are quite a few of us on here that will be there throughout the next week. It will be so cool if some of us see each other!!!
