Pre-Trip First trip in 10 years for Mom & dad, Baby's first trip! Sept 15

Hello!

Welcome to my Pre-Trip report!

Admittedly, it's taken me awhile to get excited about this trip. The countdown started with about 400 days (and I still pregnant!) but here we are! My Daughter is ONE tomorrow, and we are 88 days out!
My Husband and I haven't been since we were teenagers. It's been 10 years for me and 11 years for him. We have no idea what Disney is like now, and don't really KNOW what to be excited about if that makes sense? My mother and her husband go at least twice a year, and are "taking" us this year. They will be able to show us around and explain magic bands and such. They are bringing my nephew who is 5 and has been to Disney 5x!!!

Cast:
Britt (ME!)
Anthony = DH
Harper = Our daughter(will be turning 15 months on the trip)
Gigi= My Mother
Pap= My step dad
R = My nephew (5)

WHEN:
9/19-9/25

WHERE:
Animal Kingdom Lodge!

We live in Maryland and are driving down :eek:
I'm kind of afraid of what the drive will be like with a toddler, but I guess we'll see! We are leaving Friday 9/18 about 2pm and driving as long as we can make it before we stop for the night. We will be in two different cars.

I have Celiac Disease and I'm anxious to see how the gluten free dining will be.

So that's it for now! :D

Yes! We are leaving tomorrow but stopping in Macon for the night and so we will get to FL on Friday. It's not a long drive, (especially compared to yours :)) but we figured we would take our time. Now next week when we come home we will drive straight through. We figure it will suck anyway so why not? I will definitely keep my eyes peeled!! There are quite a few of us on here that will be there throughout the next week. It will be so cool if some of us see each other!!!
We do the same thing, even when we go to Myrtle Beach (only 10 hours) we usually always leave the night before, stop and sleep and arrive early the next morning! We are well rested, and happy! we love doing it this way. And same as you, we always drive the way back all in one day. But with a little one, and a 16 hour drive, that's not going to happen, so we have to split the ride home too. I'm really really tempted to stop in Myrtle Beach, and stay for the night even though it's a bit out of the way off of 95. Doubt it'll happen, but it'd be pretty cool!

ONE DAY!!!! and at 1pm, we will have less than 24 hours! Uh... I can't believe it!!!!
Last night I got my nails done. As suspected, it took nearly two hours. The place was SLAMMED. I could not believe how busy it was. Anyway, they are adorable!

When I got home last night, I saw that my daughter got some mail from Mickey! At first, I thought, it's probably from my mom and step dad but after looking, I dunno, Mickey's hand writing looks awfully GOOD. The address also said it was from Mickey Mouse, and I was like "hmmmm". I texted my mom to ask if they sent it and she said they did. My step dad has some pretty good Mickey handwriting skills! HOW adorable! I will probably keep this for her.

So this is it!!! Get through work today, and get through tonight with all the stuff we have to do!! IT'S ALMOST HERE!!!!!

Thinking ahead of time here, but I will probably start my Trip Report tomorrow. I don't plan on a live trip, but I would like to try to post a picture of so each day so that others may recognize us when we are there! I'm thinking TOO hard about a cool, catchy title. can't come up with a darn' thing.....

Today is Disney Day!!!!!!!!!! We leave in 3 hours and 40 minutes! I'm currently at work in my Minnie Mouse shirt (hehehe) and I'm impatiently waiting for 1pm to roll around. I really hope the morning flies by! Right now I don't have much work to do, so I figured I'd catch up here!

My daughter totally senses something's up! I don't know HOW much 14 month old's know, but she was really clingy this morning. Her Dad was home, which he normally isn't, and he drove us to daycare. She normally LOVES going to daycare, and CRIED today when I dropped her off. I think she thinks we are leaving her behind. No way, darlin' well be back for you in a few hours! So cute.

We watched a bunch of Character meet & greets on Youtube this morning. She was enthralled! She watched so intently and at one point after seeing mickey and Minnie, she stood up and screamed. Ugh. My heartstrings! I have a feeling I'm going to cry like a baby on the first day... I'm not even that emotional, but seeing your child in Disney for the first time feels like it's going to be so so special.

It's here guys!!!!!!!!

We've been driving since 1pm. It's almost 9 pm and were in North Carolina. Harper did not sleep at ALL until about thirty minutes ago. We stopped for dinner at Cracker Barrel and she wore herself out. We are driving to Walterboro,SC and then stopping at the Hampton! Going to try to post some pictures from my phone!
