I love kids but that's brutal :-p. We'll have fun on our own!!!! (hey.. doubt you could get me on the major loopy rides anyways hehe).

Lilo - I really hope you and your family like Universal much better than we do. My seven year old grandson lives in Orlando and I go to see him quite often. We have season passes to both Universal and WDW - We like WDW so much better. We feel that Universal is really geared for the teen agers - but it does have a number of rides that my grandson does enjoy.
1. Spiderman - and the spiderman character does come around quite often - the last time we were there - my grandson got to see him up close 3 or 4 times.
2. Men in Black - this is a little scary but much like the Buzz ride in that you have a laser and earn points.
3. Back to the Future ride was very dissapointing to me as I am an old Back to the Future movie buff - and I felt that it wasn't very representative of the movie.
4. My grandson really likes the ET ride and the Courious George Water Play area.
5. Be sure to visit the Triceritops if your son likes dinosaurs.

We find that usually about 6 hours in each park gives us a Universal fix and we are then ready for the good old WDW Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, MGM and Animal Kingdom.

The City Walk is great for adults in the evening, but with a six year old your night life will probably be quite limited.

My guess is, that after this trip you will agree - back to Disney next time.

Let me know.

Thanks DG. As I had mentioned we had just been at WDW in November and thought before my son goes off to camp that we go to somewhere different. True that it is geared more for adults, I'm sure if I can find a babysitter  (Freak) My hubby and I can enjoy at least one drink alone. You're right we probably will end up back at WDW in 2004 sometime. I'll write a report about the trip when its over (June 27-July 2 :D )

DG has inspired me :)
Let's take a tour of IoA
Port of Entry...very well themed (in my opinion...one of the best "entrance" areas to any park) (This is the "Main Street" area of IoA...it's themed like a Bazaar from all points of the globe)
(Grab a funnel cake here )

(We'll go clockwise)

Marvel Superhero Island:
The Incredible Hulk Coaster.
Not the best in theming...but...a VERY good coaster.

StormForce Accelatron
Teacups themed to the X-men

Dr. Doom's Fearfall
I like this a lot...pure adrenaline rush.

Spider-man
One of the best attractions I have ever been on. (great for the whole family)

Toon Lagoon

Popeye
Best raft ride I have ever been on...fast, fun, wet :)

Dudley-Do-Right
Not as "well themed" as Splash Mountain...but a much better drop

Jurassic Park

River Adventure
Huge Drop...nuff said (def. check this one out)

Pteradon Flyers...
Ok, do NOT like this attraction for a couple of reasons...LONG LINES...and...I can't get on it  unless I am accompanied by a child :lookaroun (I kid you not)!

Camp Jurassic
Babysitter for the kids :)

Triceratops Encounter
Take the little ones...they'll love this (watch their mouths drop)

DO NOT EAT AT THE BURGER DIGS :hurl:

Lost Continent
The Flying Unicorn
A cute little coaster

Dueling Dragons
Both of these coasters are unique! If you can sit in the front of ONLY ONE...make it the ICE coaster. (Fire is faster and higher...Ice has more "quick turns")

Eighth Voyage of Sindbad
Def. see this show with the little ones...it's funny, exciting, and "swashbuckling" :) (you may think it's kinda cheesy though)

(Visit the Talking Fountain :) )

Poseidon's Fury
The original version was better...but this is still neat to check out because of the tunnel of water

Suess Landing
Grab some Moose Juice

Carou-seuss-al
Very fun...but needs a rehab

One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish
(My fave "Dumbo" clone)

The Cat in the Hat
Cute dark ride based on the story

Check out the "water" area here too. The kids will love it.

(Ummm...when are we going to Universal Mom?)

Thanks Freak for the tour and the picture. I ran it by the little guy and now he is excited about going again. At first he was, then he wanted to go to WDW, then he was excited, etc. It should be a lot of fun for everyone. :sohappy:

Hey wannabebelle...there IS a method to that madness...

Please, to make it clear..."RANDOM BUMPING" is NOT promoted and is looked down upon...but...there was a reason for it.

Click here, Tramp gives a perfect explanation.

Well...since you've been launched 40mph in 2 seconds, flipped upside 7 times, spun around til you :hurl: , had the fear sucked from you as your rocketed 200ft in the air, battled Spidey's most feared enemies, and dropped 400ft back to earth (virtually)...it's time to move on to the Sunday comics :)

1. Wossamatta U (store)
2. Me Ship, The Olive (oh boy with the little ones like squirting the unsuspecting "Bilge Rat" riders :)
3. Bilge Rat Barges
4. Dudley Do-Rights Ripsaw Falls

Now that you've bought your moose antlers, played the "Popeye" theme on the piano, got drenched with the Bilge Rats, and saved Nell Fenwick...it's time to jump out of the Sunday comics...

It's time...we are off...

*Queue JP theme as the giant gates open*

1. Camp Jurassic (Pteradon Flyers fly around CJ)
2. River Adventure
3. Discovery Center (watch a Raptor hatch!)
4. (I substituted this pic from the River Adventure so the Triceratops Encounter will be a surprise :) )

Wow...nice little adventure you've been on so far...

Now...what else can we add to the ongoing list of things you've done...
You've flown by the talons of a Pteradon, Played at Camp Jurassic, went on an unbelievable River Adventure and saw the might T-rex, witnessed a baby Raptor hatch before your eyes, and saw a real life Triceratops :lookaroun

what lies ahead???

1. Board a Flying Unicorn and fly through a mystical forest
2. Duel on the back of a dragon (choose your fate...(try both))
3. Go to the deep depths of the ocean to the lost city of Atlantis and watch the battle between Poseidon and Darkanon.
4. Eat at Mythos... :slurp:

ROFL...I just noticed something about Mythos...would you want to eat at a restaurant who's building is throwing up?
:hurl:

Regarding Mythos. First off - is it good food? Second - what dummy thought of having water come out of his mouth? You're right, not too appealing is it?:hammer:
