Trip Report First time staying at the Boardwalk

Hi All!! One week from today, we will be flying the friendly skies from Pittsburgh to Orlando!! I am so excited!! Like, most of you, I am obsessed with all things Disney!

First the cast,

Hunter, 12, myself, Deighton, timeless, Brinley, 21 months, Camden 5, and Den, also timeless!! This picture was taken last October.

So, as I previously stated, we are leaving May 31 at 7am and getting into Orlando at 11 am. We will take the ME to the Boardwalk. This will not only be our first time staying at the Boardwalk but it will also be our first time in a one bedroom villa. Wahoo, a room to ourselves without our stinky, mange, poachers, I mean, sons. Oops!

I am going to try,yet again, to do a livish report. I, usually, start strong and fail, bitterly, at the end. Here goes another try!! One week to go and all systems go!!!

Alright, it is official, @lostpro9het is a genius and also knows food. That meal at Il Mulino is superior to almost any food on property! What an amazing meal!! It will be on our must do list every trip. I cant wait to go sans my wonderful children!

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! What did you think of the limoncello? Can you believe people try to compare Via Napoli to Il Mulino?!?

Epcot rope drop morning! We did Soarin and Test Track. We also met Baymax which was awesome! Just ate at the Rose and Crown. Again another great meal! The yorkshire pudding was delicious!

Everyone is exhausted! Quiet time for now and then back to Epcot! Coral Reef reservations at 735. This is the last day of 2 reservations a day. Thank goodness!

So so humid again!!

Misti for 2 at Il Mulino!! So good!! The peppers were really hot! The buffalo mozz with fresh tomato and basil was heavenly. The tomato actually tasted hand picked from a garden! I do decree, you can not fully love Disney until you have tried this place!

Thank you!! We really are!! For the first time, I am not racing and just taking it all in! I can tell you, there are many a days in a year that your reports keep me going and dreaming!
Totally agree with this. :):)

Your kids are really cute. They have such nice smiles.:)

Looks like you guys are having a blast! How are the crowds?

I will definitely have to try Il Mulino one time. How are the prices compared to a Disney restaurant?

Thank you! The prices are cheaper than most table service restaurants with larger portions!

The crowds are very large! We are in Epcot now. It has been pouring for hours!!

So day 3 ended with lots and lots of rain for hours! We braved the rain and road living with the land, spaceship earth and nemo. Then went to Coral Reef for a good dinner. Service was great! Thanks Rocky! We will go back again but it is not on our must do list everytime. The octupus was delicious! Hunter got the salmon and he said it was tasteless. He was right! Dont get the salmon. Den had the shrimp and grits. It was spectacular.

The pictures are lacking and I apologize...again...but the rain, rain, rain.

We went to Typhoon Lagoon for the first time on this trip. The wave pool has killer waves. Make sure the little ones have life vests on. You may want to keep Brin closer to shore when the large waves start. You could be in only 18" of water and when that wave crashes you can get knocked back like 25 feet. Two of my kids ended up with a couple of scrapes off the bottom when they got pummeled. They still loved it and thought it was awesome. We thought the family raft ride at BB was better, but Misfortune Falls was still fun. The lazy river was better at Typhoon Lagoon. They had so much fun at the wave pool and lazy river that we didn't explore all the different rides. It was a cooler day the day we went and the water felt cold, so that may have contributed to us not roaming that much. We got food at Leaning Palms and everyone ate everything. They kids meals come with a pail and shovel so that is great for sand play near the wave pool. Overall we had fun. The kids were completely exhausted by the end of the day. Have fun!:)

About 2 weeks ago, when I was at WDW, I didn't get over to Typhoon Lagoon. But just a heads up if you don't have a rental car. My experience was with Blizzard Beach--the bus service from the hotel is awful. They send everyone over in a bus to Animal Kingdom, and then you wait for another bus to Blizzard Beach. Needless to say, when the Blizzard Beach bus arrived at AK to pick up the crowd there, it was then mobbed with people. I've heard similar stories about how they've rerouted buses to Typhoon Lagoon as well (although I did not go there).

Again, if you don't have a rental car, it might be well worth your sanity to get a taxi from your hotel over there--especially with the size of your group.

We were absolutely gobsmacked at how bad the bus service to the water parks is. We were at Port Orleans Riverside so Typhoon Lagoon was basically across the road... it took us 1hr and 40 mins to get back to the hotel from there on our last trip. We had to drive past the hotel to get to Disney springs to wait to go back again!!! Terrible.
