First of 2 Trips in 9 Months Pre-Trip and Trip Report 5/29-6/7

So this is my first ever pre-trip report, much less trip report. But most definitely not my first trip. I am new to this site and decided to try this out.
Who:
48518256.jpg

Me, 27, the planner this time around. I booked all the meals and made the itinerary for the trip. Maybe that's why I'm so excited. My co-workers think I'm crazy because all I've been talking about is Disney. I love taking pictures, I'm not the best, but I love it. So my trip report will be filled with pictures.
26330748.jpg

My Mom, the packer and repacker. She makes sure we have everything we need for the trip. We are celebrating her birthday while in Disney.
63362657.jpg

My Dad, the camera man. Was hard to find a picture of him, because like me, he is always behind the camera.
42727721.jpg

My sister, 19, the diva or drama queen, as she calls herself. Tinkerbell freak, as you can tell my the picture. I usually get stuck sitting with her on the rides. Lucky me. LOL.
41847202.jpg

My brother, 13, the only boy. He is braver than the rest of us, he's been trying to convince me to ride Splash Mountain.
66699747.jpg

My sister, 13, the baby of the family. But she acts like the boss most of the time. I will NOT ride with her on Tomorrowland Indy Speedway this time around.
What: 8 days in Walt Disney World.
When: May 29th-June 7th.
Where: Pop Century, two preferred rooms. Hopefully connected.
Why: Because three years is too long to go without visiting Disney World. We are also celebrating my mom's birthday while we are there. Also I will be spending some time with a friend that now works at Disney World.
So the meaning behind the title, you ask? My mom and I (and possibly my nanny) will be taking another trip in January. Ever since my friend moved to Florida, he and I have been planning a birthday trip for the two of us. My birthday is in January, his is in February. So we will be going somewhere in between. So for the first time ever I will be going to Disney World twice in less then a year.

Anything else you would like to know, just ask. I will post the itinerary and meals tomorrow night after work.

Here is the itinerary for our trip.

Leaving some time late Friday May 28th, or early Saturday morning. I want to leave around midnight, so we can get to the hotel earlier than normal. That way we can go do some shopping at Downtown Disney. I need a bag for the trip. Now for the actual itinerary:

May 30th- Magic Kingdom
Breakfast at Crystal Palace @ 8:20 AM
Evening Magic Hours

May 31st- Breakfast at Cape May Cafe @ 7:40 AM
Blizzard Beach till around 1
Animal Kingdom
Evening Magic Hours

June 1st- Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare @ 8:00 AM
Typhoon Lagoon till close
Downtown Disney/Boardwalk

June 2nd- Magic Kingdom
Dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern @ 4:40 PM

June 3rd- Breakfast at Whispering Canyon Cafe @ 7:40 AM
Epcot
Evening Magic Hours

June 4th- Breakfast at Chef Mickey's @ 7:20 AM
Blizzard Beach till close
Downtown Disney/Boardwalk

June 5th- MGM (I know, but I refuse to call it anything else. LOL.)
Breakfast at Hollywood & Vine @ 8:10 AM
Star Wars Weekend (For the boys. Mostly. LOL.)

June 6th- Magic Kingdom
Breakfast at Crystal Palace @ 8:20 AM
Dinner at Crystal Palace @ 4:05 PM
MAIN STREET ELECTRICAL PARADE RETURNS

June 7th- Sleep in finally. Then go home. :(

We are on the Dining Plan. That is why we have some many Table Service meals. And we love character meals. As far as Quick Service goes, I personally plan on trying at least one new place each day. Any suggestions?

The water parks and Downtown Disney/Boardwalk may change. We are playing that part by ear.

As you can tell I am esctatic for Main Street Electrical Parade to return. That is the first parade I remember seeing.

Sorry this is so long. But no one else will listen to me talk about Disney anymore.

As we get closer I will post anything I think of.

Hi there and welcome! Great first stab at a report! I'm lovin' it already!

Your itinerary looks great. I noticed Crystal Palace twice before park opening. That's my faaaavorite thing to do, walk up Main Street before park opening. **sigh** Y'all like the water parks, huh? We usually go to WDW in January & us thin-blooded Southerners can't take the cold even if it's only sorta cool. LOL! Maybe someday we'll make a trip just to do water parks.

Y'all are from NOLA! Cool! We lived in LaPlace for a couple years a looooong time ago then on the Northshore in Abita Springs & Covington for like 10 years. We moved away in late 2005 (bet ya can't guess why...LOL). We sure do miss it & wish we'd never left. We still keep in touch with friends there and go back to visit every now & then. It's so much fun to go back to our favorite restaurants & such.

Can't wait for updates & for y'all to go on your adventure!

Sweetpee- How is it in January? My mom and I will be going to celebrate my friend and my birthday. I have never been other than summer time. Well once when I was little we went in october, but I don't remember much of that trip. How is the weather in January? Are there really that many rides that are closed? I will be going regardless, I just wanna know ahead of time. Thanks.

I still call it MGm from time to time too- I can't help it- LOL

For a QS in AK- I suggest Flame Tree BBQ. It is really good and they give you a lot of food. Also in DD- try Wolfgang Puck Express- great food.
Hope you have a great time:wave:

LovingDisney-- What would you say is the best thing at Flame Tree Barbecue? I was thinking of going there. At Downtown Disney its a toss up between Wolfgang Puck Express and Earl of Sandwich. Might just have to try both.

Blackthidot-- We always go to the water parks at least twice. My mom prefers Blizzard Beach. So we go there more than Typhoon Lagoon. I don't care as long as there is a lazy river.

Any one have any suggestions on good food in the water parks? I'm tired of having to eat the same thing all the time. I have vowed to have no hamburgers the whole trip. I'll let ya'll know how I do. LOL.

It is 25 days and counting, and I am getting anxious. My co-workers think I'm nuts because I am constantly talking about Disney. It's nice to be able to talk about it here and not be judged. LOL.

Oooh...this might not be the year to ask me about January trips. We've done that time of year 6 times and the weather was always great. Then there was this year. I'm still sorta sore with Mother Nature about it. We were there for the record bitter cold. According to CMs who were out & about in the early morning hours, there were snow flurries twice. (Check out my trip report from this year linked in my signature. Also, there's another one from January '09 that might help.) So **normally** temps are mild. Jeans & t-shirts with a hoodie or light jacket at night. I watch the weather forecasts ahead of our trips then pack accordingly. It can get warm. We've done t-shirts & shorts in January more than once. Also, be sure to watch the weather forecasts from day to day while there because they change a lot. It helps. I don't like how short the park hours are during that time. That's one big thing that's driving me to want to try other times of year.

Sweetpee-- Thanks for the info. Sounds like our weather here. Since we drive, we can pack a better variety of things. Just have to remember to get lockers each day. That main reason I am going in January is to celebrate my birthday with my friend that moved down there. Actually he works there, so I will see him both trips. But I have promised him, since he moved down there that I would come once for our birthdays. They are about a month apart. So the parks closing earlier than I'm used to wouldn't be the worst thing. I was more concerned with certain rides not being open.

Oh yeah! The rides. Well, one of the water parks will be closed for the annual overhaul. Expect at least a couple rides to be down for refurbs but it's not that bad. It's not like every other ride is closed or anything. If it's super cold like it was this year anything that has the potential to get you wet won't be on. Like the various water play areas, the spitting things in Adventureland, etc. They shut 'em off. Overall, tho, January isn't a bad time at all.

I had the ribs- they were good. I got the key lime mousse desert thing- I didn't care for that. I have heard good things about Earl of Sandwich and should probably try that this year.
Sorry can't give you any information on the water parks food- my daughter is 3- so still too little to do that. That will be something to look forward to in years to come. There is so much to do and see at Disney.

I hear ya about talking Disney all the time. I love to talk about it and on here is the only place that fellow Disney lovers understand. People think I am crazy when I tell them I am going to Disney again. They just don't understand

Sweetpee-- I have read your trip reports. For some reason I didn't realize they were yours right away. LOL. As far as the water parks being closed, I wasn't planning on doing that anyway. I get enough of that during the summer trips.

Lovingdisney-- The day before my last trip to Disney, my boss told me to leave early. He said I was making his nerves bad, because I wouldn't stop talking about it. So he told me to just leave. LOL.

So last night I bought a new video camera. Especially for the trip. I'm very excited to try it out. About 3 months ago, I bought a new digital camera, that I absolutely love. And it takes awesome pictures. So, I should have lots to share when we get back. Only 20 days left. Can't get here quick enough.

Good plan thus far. I can't wait to read the actual report....

Flame Tree is one of our favorite quick service meals as well so I dif. recommend that one.

I don't know much about January weather but we were down this past February for the first time. What a change from July. But nothing like the weather we were having back home!

Two weeks from now, I will be checked in and already shopping at Downtown Disney. LOL.

I'm getting excited. Well, even more excited than normal. :p

I still have to buy some things, and pack everything. I'm actually behind. I am usually all packed and ready to go by now.

I've been spending way to much time one here. But then again no one else will listen to me about Disney anymore.
