I'm pretty bummed about this. i have a family member (also a CM) who was so so excited to be on this cruise, and CM's didn't get offered a whole lot as compensation. granted, they are getting discounted rooms to begin with, so i'm sure no one expected the world in return. but it's still disappointing.

3 days notice isn't a lot. I think about that. We usually leave here for the long drive a few days early. It would stink to get all the way there THEN find out. You know?
I do not think insurance would cover this, it was a planned dry dock that was too ambitious and they got it wrong ceilings falling down and flooding, they will loose money and it may damage reputation but the offers should quell media coverage.I am wondering how much all of this is costing DCL. Lost revenue, the free cruises for the people booked on the cruise (or the heavy discount), additional port fees. I wonder whether they had some kind of insurance for this type of event (weather delaying the refurbishment schedule).
I know that Tokyo Disneyland had insurance against loss of revenue from earth quakes. There was something in the financial reports that while there was loss of revenue when they had to close after Fukushima, some time later there was a huge increase in revenue and it was explained that this was when the insurance company paid out. Which surprised me at the time as I thought the premiums to insure a business in Japan against earth quake risks would be astronomical...
