I'm planning my family's first trip to WDW (hubby and I have been a looong time ago as kids) and our children will be 8 and 5 when we go in November.

We want to get some groceries on our way in (or have them delivered) so if pay for a Town Car from the aiport, what's the going/average rate? Otherwise, we'll use the Magical Express and have groceries delivered as was recommended. We just want to check every angle.

I'm SO excited and busy planning...
Thanks!
Sandy

We've done a round trip stretch limo transfer (I think was like $360) and then a 1-way stretch limo back out to the airport on departure day which I think may have run $100. Even with the limo transfer going to the resort we didn't bother with the grocery stop. We were too dang anxious to get there! LOL! That trip my aunt came down the day after we arrived so she brought us our bottled water & Dr. Pepper supplies. :animwink:

One-way National Car

With National Car Rental, you can also rent a car one-way from the Airport to the Disney Car Care Center.

We have used Tiffany Towncar in the past. The total was somewhere around $120.00 or so, not including tip. There are different rates for other areas such as hotels outside of WDW. There are a bunch of similar services in Orlando, but this is the only service we have used - 3 times - in the past. If memory serves me correctly, you can have a total of 4 folks in the car; probably 5 if some are younger kids. http://www.tiffanytowncars.com/

We've been using ME since it started because it is free and that gives us a chance to use the money for something else. We started using Garden Grocer last year and were very impressed. The service was easy to use and our order arrived within the timeframe we requested; it was actually a little late, but the driver did call me and let me know he was running late and I was okay with that. We did not order much - beverages (including bottles of water), snacks, bread, donuts, eggs, milk, cereal. The prices are higher than you would pay at home, but much lower that those @WDW. We will use them again this year for sure.

We now rent a car on our trips because we like to go to Publix on our own time and go to Universal, but we have used Tiffany before and have never had a bad experience.

In fact, if you go with a super cheap car, the cost to rent the car for a week/8 days isn't a whole lot more than there-and-back with Tiffany and tips. IMO it's more worth it to have the rental car to do what you want when you want!

^^^ I'm pretty sure when we used Tiffany a couple months ago the tip was included in the posted rate. With Quicksilver it wasn't. The kicker was that the rates were about the same but Tiffany already included the tip which made it a better rate. :D

Yep. Just checked it again. Add the 20% gratuity to the stretch limo (base rate of $240 roundtrip) w/QS & it's $288. Tiffany was a flat $264 (gratuity included) for the same vehicle.

Thanks for all the info again! Kelly, I am definitely going with grocery delivery from the place you recommended but we'll be doing ME from the airport to ASM- not sure about the trip back as I don't want to be trying to throw myself off the bus watching the sad 'good-bye' movie:(.

Hi Sandy:wave:
The ME movie on the way back to the airport is sad, but it just makes you want to come back again! lol. And don't forget because we booked your flight on a participating airline, on the day you depart WDW, you can check your luggage and get your boarding passes right at your resort before you leave for the airport. If you need anything let me know :)

For comparison's sake you should check out renting a car using the discount codes on Mousesavers.com. I have used them in the past and gotten deals that were less than hiring out a town car for the back and forth trip. It also gives you the freedom to go off-site(gasp;)) if you need to.

I've heard of this site before, but never took the time to check.
Now I signed up for the newsletter and hopefully we can get a discount on our rental car next time!
Thank so much for mentioning it!
