Got everything booked for next year today. This should be a heck of a trip. We're staying 7 nights in a Deluxe Room at Portofino Bay, then heading over to the Beach Club for 11 nights. I got a fantastic deal at PBH, and since we've never stayed there, I thought it would be a fun treat for the family. Now comes the fun part - Paying it all off.:(

I always book on my own. No disrespect to any Travel Agents, but I think I know as much about the resorts at Disney and Universal as they do. Plus, I'm always on top of the discounts that come out. I just like to be in charge of any changes that I want to make.

Good for you. You're going to love PBH!!!

Weren't you the guy whose wife wanted BC, but he wanted BWI? If so, glad to see that worked out for everyone. ;)

Sounds like an amazing trip in the works CaptainKidd! I really loved PBH, the pool, the ambiance, service and food choices are great. Sal's Market Deli offers sandwiches and pizza in a quick service style setting-its very convenient. This year we are trying the Hard Rock Hotel and last time we tried the Royal Pacific. The only thing I dislike about the Loews hotels in comparison to say the Poly and GF are the long hallways, but being BLT members that is the norm now for us. I think I want to back to the BC sometime as well.

Good Luck paying it off-you will get there!

We're going to do Busch Gardens and possibly Wet n' Wild while we're there.

We recently did 5 days at the Universal theme parks without repeating ourselves (with the exception of FJ of course :)). What worked for us was actually treating the vacation like a vacation. Sleep in late, spend afternoons or evenings at a pool, take our time dining, etc. We visited the Universal theme parks on 5 days but spent only about 4-to-8 hours at them on any one day. It was the most relaxing vacation we've every had in Orlando.

We always stay at Hard Rock, we LOVE it. It's been about 2 years for us now, but back then they used to have chef's tastings in the lobby from The Kitchen. i think it was only 1 or 2 dishes, but it was nice to be able to sample some of their offerings for free. i hope they still do this! Enjoy your stay.

And that is the best part of a Uni vacation. Sleep in. Spend hours at the pool. Have a fun time that is also relaxing.

There is also nothing that says you can't stay at Uni and ride over to WDW (or vice versa). I've done it. :)
