Thank you @Cmdr_Crimson
It looks like a cute/cool show
Between college/internship/getting CPA/working up to 3 jobs simultaneously/etc.... I was mostly "off the grid" then![]()
I rode 2.0 several times as well. It was really bad but the improvement to 3.0 was negligible- I barely noticed it at the time. 3.0 Figment is actively detrimental to the ride experience.I also only rode 2.0 once. Like most attractions that only have "camcorder-like" archives...nothing can do justice to actually experiencing it.
It was realllllly bad. I was so insulted on so many simultaneous levels (the least of which was the literal insult at the start).
Imo the main ("only?") way 3.0 is, technically, better is that it's not 2.0.
another great point. Comparatively speaking, it's more like he's Figment's "evil twin" than the actual Figment.I rode 2.0 several times as well. It was really bad but the improvement to 3.0 was negligible- I barely noticed it at the time. 3.0 Figment is actively detrimental to the ride experience.

The frustrating thing is I never got to ride the original in person as well. my first-ever visit was in November 1999 and Imagination 2.0 was literally the second Disney ride (not counting HISTA) I ever rode. Thankfully SSE 94 was so great and I was unaware of what was there before at the time that it didn't bother me that much but it left virtually no impression on me that i never re-rode it during my trips in 01, 04 and 08. I have only ridden version 3 once during my last trip in 2019 just to say I have ridden it. It was easily forgettable.I also only rode 2.0 once. Yet another reason to "bring it back" imo....so many, through no fault of their own, have "missed out"The frustrating thing is I never got to ride the original in person as well. my first-ever visit was in November 1999 and Imagination 2.0 was literally the second Disney ride (not counting HISTA) I ever rode. good point...if nothing else a chance to "rest one's eyes" in air conditioning.I like dark rides, even really bad ones!

They use to have ad posters as you enter the playset adventure at DHS and the Scolari version was the host on the Virtual Jungle Cruise at Disneyquest which it's closest park tie in..Thank you @Cmdr_Crimson

There was a time-frame, before Nemo revamp, when Disney realized that virtually everyone "discovered" the "back door" and was intentionally skipping the intro movie (inverse format of Norway attraction (same motivation to "skip the film"--theirs was settled by leaving the theater doors perpetually open). You missed peak EPCOT -- that sucks. No Horizons, no Imagination, no World of Motion.
I'm not sure if Living Seas was still fully functioning at that point either, although it may have been. I know parts of it were shut down well before they added Nemo but I'm not sure when.

that's how I remember it...people were that "bored" of the movie (and because they discovered the backdoor they realized they didn't descend at all so they hydrolators sadly lost their "magic"). I remember it was a big joke even with the cast members:Didn't they completely stop running the SeaCabs too before Nemo?

"it rained. And it rained......"
that’s precisely it.. and what seemingly the folks behind this (not all, but the head honchos) seemingly were hoping would happen long term (in guests/fans being so desperate/accepting of it). In truth, actually kinda despicable, knowing how long this “fix” would last after the fact. But honest to God, a Skunk Slot Machine that quite literally brings up the original Rose scent from the end of the Dreamport to the Realm of Art scene in the original until switching to ‘that’ for us to smell instead. I don’t understand why anyone thought that was such a brilliant idea and fit “whimsical realms of imagination”, let alone how that would genuinely please fans of the original ride & character after (very passionately, I might add) they campaigned to bring him, Dreamfinder, and the original ride back.I think we were all just desperate to have Figment back, and were happy to have some form of One Little Spark back. Over time, though, it became clear what a terrible attraction it really is.
It’s like if all the sudden you decided to have Pooh barf on the guests at some point in a ride or show via a water spray effect, or become weirdly snarky or sarcastic throughout the rest of it. But no, that’s not typical with a character that was that beloved and known to be genuinely sincere with childish delight & innocence back then. Pooh & Pals were the biggest characters by that point next to Mickey & Friends and you never, ‘ever’ saw that attempted with them. Ever. And that’s who/what kind of characters Figment & Dreamfinder were, they were on that same level of appreciation & attachment by most. So why anyone at WDI decided to do that with Figment, if that was their actual intent, is beyond me. But I wish we could find out.PS: He’s very much “eXtreme 90s Figment.”
Funny you should mention that. Cause as I’ve mentioned before.. in the current queue, there’s an Inventor of the Year Award Recipient section.. and it features ‘Dr. Nigel Channing’ with Figment alongside Dr. Phillip Brainard with Flubber and Dr. Wayne Salinksi with the Shrinking Machine. So yeah.. uh.. is he a “discovery” as brought up in the opening scene of this redo, that’s an “interference” to the tour.. or is he his creation? And of course, as any knowledgable fan would know, Figment is actually ‘Dreamfinder’s’ creation, hence why he sings his little sparks into being that create him in the opening scene of the original ride, which isn’t heard or seen in the 02-current one.. so.. forgery much?? Doesn’t seem so clearly explained in the current redo, is it?another great point. Comparatively speaking, it's more like he's Figment's "evil twin" than the actual Figment.

Which, of course.. is ironic.. considering the “forgery” of a ride with the deceiving name and description it’s had since ‘02.. when it very clearly isn’t what it purports to be… HmmmFunny you should mention that. And of course, as any true fan would know, Figment is ‘Dreamfinder’s’ creation.. so.. forgery much?? Doesn’t seem so clear, does it? lol!
That still doesn't make sense ..If Nigel states in 02 version intro that pops up is a "Discovery" then what is this one He created in the 99 cue line???Funny you should mention that.
