Rumor Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

Oh they will still love Figment, they will just be too old to go to the parks....
I don’t know that there’s a point when people are too old to go to the parks. I’ve seen so many grandparents riding around those parks on ECVS. People up into their 90s go to those parks. Even if they can’t ride Guardians anymore, I’m sure they’d make a visit to see a new Figment attraction. Heck, they already do for significantly less (say, a popcorn bucket for instance).

Y'all are in need of a serious reality check if you think Bob Iger, leader of one of the world's biggest media empires, is at all thinking about how a change to a niche theme park attraction could impact his legacy. What good would it do? A few thousand nerds would hate him a little less? His legacy in the parks is cemented in the IPs he oversaw being developed or acquired. He doesn't care about Figment I promise lol
The Figment comic doing well was the one time Bob Iger has ever acknowledged a specific comic book released by Marvel. Of course it didn't inspire him to actually do anything meaningful with Figment after that since he sees JIIWF as "Mission Accomplished", but it's interesting that he cared more about that tie-in then anything going on in the hot mess that is the publishing side of one of his big purchases.

Yearly figment popcorn bucket key jingling!

All I think when I watch this video is how much I want them to change out that sign in the background. If they’re not going to replace the ride, at least replace the temporary looking banner sign that’s been there for 20 years with a permanent professional looking sign

Well originally there was no banner or even a sign in that spot, only the large main one. Such simpler times

I think they are trying to make it look like a demonstration is going on inside in a event center. Not saying its good but I assume that is the thought behind it.

Yes - that was the story behind the banners, and I would have to guess it was a lower-budget option given the circumstances of JIYI to JIIwF. The concept isn't a bad idea. But, I agree they should have some other type of sign - even an Imagination Institute sign - to add more draw to the entrance. (The banners could stay if they wanted to show the "open house".)

Basically, just moving the banners that are indoors to the outside..

Yes. As much as I'd like it to go away, I always thought a bronze version of the Institute sign on the side of the building with a glowing light bulb (which, naturally, features a Figment every now and then) would be a cool way to mark the entrance.

Otherwise, the Institute feels more like an unmarked CIA operation... Hiding in plain sight... wait a minute...

They could have repurposed the old sign from DL..

Mirroring a post I put up on the rumor tracker thread (that I mistakenly thought was this thread, whoops). That permit from last year was to build a new break room upstairs.
In case it never got put up here, this permit was to convert some upstairs space (specifically the old Vibrating Mirror room which has been closed since the early ‘90s) into a new cast break room. The project has finished and none of the rest of the Image Works was impacted. The new break room is behind where the rainbow corridor used to be and beside where Mirage used to be, that little corner of the second floor.
