Best they'll do is "Dreamfinder's Blimp" bucket next year.
Or one of a small Figment popping out of Dreamfinder's Top Hat..

It's about as exciting as JIYI... with a cute Figment glued on top... More on the nose than I expected...

And - yes - a good Dreammobile bucket will be MINE should it be created. (And that's coming from someone who really doesn't enjoy popcorn buckets much.)

I was upset to see they went with the Imagination Institute lightbulb. Was hoping they’d move away from anything institute related…

Y'all are in need of a serious reality check if you think Bob Iger, leader of one of the world's biggest media empires, is at all thinking about how a change to a niche theme park attraction could impact his legacy. What good would it do? A few thousand nerds would hate him a little less? His legacy in the parks is cemented in the IPs he oversaw being developed or acquired. He doesn't care about Figment I promise lol

the other problem is if and when they ever announce a retooling of Journey Into the Imagination, it will take many years of construction, and will never be as amazing as it was at it's 1980s opening... I would expect more screens, less imaginative, and a bigger gift shop...if they push it a few more years, those of us who ride the original ride will have aged-out and not care about Theme parks anymore...

Oh they will still love Figment, they will just be too old to go to the parks....
I don’t know that there’s a point when people are too old to go to the parks. I’ve seen so many grandparents riding around those parks on ECVS. People up into their 90s go to those parks. Even if they can’t ride Guardians anymore, I’m sure they’d make a visit to see a new Figment attraction. Heck, they already do for significantly less (say, a popcorn bucket for instance).

The Figment comic doing well was the one time Bob Iger has ever acknowledged a specific comic book released by Marvel. Of course it didn't inspire him to actually do anything meaningful with Figment after that since he sees JIIWF as "Mission Accomplished", but it's interesting that he cared more about that tie-in then anything going on in the hot mess that is the publishing side of one of his big purchases.

Yearly figment popcorn bucket key jingling!

All I think when I watch this video is how much I want them to change out that sign in the background. If they’re not going to replace the ride, at least replace the temporary looking banner sign that’s been there for 20 years with a permanent professional looking sign
