EPCOT Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

I'm personally of the opinion that as of right now, it gets demo'd entirely after SSE and Imagination get their due since the previous maintenance on it didn't do much to fix the leaking issues it had and the shape of the building, especially with the attraction layout, does more to limit what they can put in there, than it could benefit ideas (see how PLAY! plans only had the hub area used, not Body Wars or Cranium Command's theater).

I don't WANT WoL demo'd, but I think Disney/urban explorers have gotten everything of note and I'd rather see something all new be built versus reuse a building that's been deuterating slowly since 2007.

I just don't see a way for WDI to fix 'the WoL problem' that isn't 'get the nearest bulldozer'. PLAY! would've been a band-aid on a problem but it'd be a cheap one that peels off within a day or two.

It would be a shame to lose the building, but if they aren't going to do anything with it they're probably better off tearing it down and then building a replacement that's usable.

I really hope they do something better than Cosmic Rewind, though. Not a comment on the attraction quality -- just that I hope they build a pavilion with multiple activities instead of solely a ride.

I don't see how, considering they show the same 3 shorts 24/7/365.
Just about ever ride and attraction is exactly the same from the last time you were in the parks. Why isn't the story in SSE a waste of space since it's always the same?

I drop by the Film Festival every time I visit EPCOT. The 3D for Get a Horse is truly outstanding. And made better when the 4D elements are working. Something you can't get watching D+ at home.

Meanwhile, I skip Figment and Nemo every trip.

So, it ain't a waste of space for me. But Figment and Nemo are... for me.

Nemo kind of feels "eh it's okay but one and done" sort of thing. While Figment kind of is a thing I ride multiple times, despite knowing the ride isn't technically great.

But there's the opportunity to show more than just three shorts. Unlike Captain EO or Honey I Shrunk The Audience (which aren't the same as experiencing them in person), you can watch these shorts at home and get essentially the same effect, and the 4D isn't enough to make it interesting. At the very least, if they keep it there, why can't they play different shorts each month of the year? It's such an easy thing to do.

I agree there should be more shorts. That had other shorts that had shown there.

I thank COVID for killing Play!, which I think was a complete waste of a pavilion and would have been a ghost town within 5 years.

Killing SSE may have been for the best too, since the concept art wasn't exactly inspiring.

I'd rather something in WoL at this point than a shell/crime scene.

not Body Wars or Cranium Command's theater).
JUST BRING BACK BODY WARS! MANG, THEY COULD MAKE A FORTUNE ON HAVING ELISABETH SHUE REPRISE HER ROLE AND HAVING DAVID HAYTER, CHRIS PRATT, OR WHOEVER PLAY THE VOLUNTEER!

This thread is about the Figment ride, and tangentially, the Imagination Pavilion.

It is not about the Wonders of Life Pavilion, nor Body Wars.
I just had to put that out there.

Why not Imagination get cartoon starbursts? The Snow White ones will actually FIT the pavilion, but Disney steers clear of any outdated-looking stuff. The Roger Rabbit ones are your best bet for appearing in Imagination... if they even pay attention to it.

Star Wars No GIF
Well in a effort to get this thread onto something at least somewhat related to figment I rearranged my schedule so I will be able to meet Tony Baxter now to stress over weather this will be one of the best or one of the worst and most embarrassing experiences of my life

Trust me when I say, he is ‘super’ chill, generous with his time & info, and genuinely enjoys talking to fans that are genuinely as invested as he is as a designer and lover of the parks. I can speak from personal experience, meeting him a few times in the past. One of the nicest guys ever 🙂

What the heck are you even referring to? “Cartoon Starbursts”?? Are you referring to the candy or.. I’m really confused. Are you just trolling?
The ending of Snow White's Adventures pre-1994 had you go into a room full of flashing, cartoony stars after the witch dropped a gem on you, to either signify getting knocked unconscious, dying, or waking up from a dream.

It's been one of my niché Disney special interests since middle school.
