EPCOT Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

They can't have another disaster like the hype for the new EPCOT that was a budget cut failure by the end...Surely they have budgeted these plans before announcing them, and will be pushing them to completion...
Seems like we're forgetting about the worldwide pandemic that ground the company's revenue to a halt in the middle of the Epcot overhaul.

Those two didn't have marketable little characters to make merch off of. That's why the Bears lived and those two didn't. The main thing the company wants is marketable little guys
Merchandising, Merchandising. Where the real money from the movie is made.

With the muppet rumors all over the wall, I think of the original muppet labs plans for this space. I have a question for everyone:
WOULD YOU RATHER
have dreamfinder and figment in the half track imagination, and maybe inside out in the magic eye
OR
muppets plans in imagination are brought back. Figment remains, but muppetvision goes in the magic eye, and a muppet labs ride goes in imagination. Dreamfinder is probably gone forever.

Neither. I would take the first option with Muppets in Magic Eye.

The problem is Muppet Labs is Muppets-adjacent. They are hosting the concept. It also is more limited in characters who make sense. Where Muppets 3D (and others like Great Moments) are more about the Muppets and their humor. I think Figment and Dreamfinder (done properly) have way longer a shelf-life.

Lord that’s what I want. I want it so bad. I’m nervous though that the new location in imagination would make the attendance sink way lower than it was in DHS

I would still love to see IMAG be the WDI pavilion, with that (and Figment) being the "IP"...

Though a "WDI hires the Muppets" film would be an idea I could fully get behind...

I also think a cool, weird food location on an expanded terrace would help the audience a lot.

I wish the muppets could be in more than just “films” at the parks. I want a muppets dark ride. It still could work well today with the right concept.

A Muppets dark ride would be an excellent addition to Hollywood Studios. If not my "The Great Gonzo's Daredevil Academy" concept (which Disney would probably never do, even if they DID want to do a Muppets dark ride), something a la Tokyo's Monsters Inc. ride has potential - what if the Muppets were getting ready to do a show at the Hollywood Bowl (hey, it wouldn't be the first time!), but the Muppets were scattered around Hollywood ten minutes before showtime, and Kermit and Fozzie need your help finding them all?

Removing Hall of Presidents with Muppets? Make a muppet omnimover dark ride with the muppets trying (and failing) at telling US History. Similar to great moments in History but including a few new scenes such as "The Shot Heard Round the World" The Battle of Yorktown, Boston Tea Party, etc

I am all for a 1:1 sparknotes version with an elaborate preshow. Bring it on, and keep Muppets in DHS!!! No HoP, no Imagination, they should remain in their park and frankly if Monsters takes over, they should receive a brand new space & darkride where AC currently sits
Me too. I hope it happens, I need it. Especially as someone who’s top five favorite Disney attractions included splash mountain, original country bears, and muppetvision 3D. been a rough few years as a fan, let me have this.

Agreed - hopefully people can set aside their egos and admit that it was a mistake to get rid of the original and that the older imagineers actually knew a thing or two about fun

Saw this guy’s comments over on the Cars thread about ROA & it seems like he’s fairly well informed. I sure hope this isn’t something that’s still being considered, I hate the idea of a crossover attraction more and more each day, especially after the news on ROA & Muppets being endangered. I feel like we all need this win. No crossovers, nothing. The original spirit of the attraction back in full force & I will not settle for anything less

I thought that Pete Docter specifically didn't want to put Inside Out into Imagination ride because that's Figment's ride - hopefully he hasnt' changed his mind. Is there any way they could build an expansion to WoL to fit a ride behind it?
A lot of the space behind the WoL building on its north side is now occupied by Cosmic Rewind. It might be conceivable to expand to its eastern rear (behind the former Cranium Command section), but there's an imagineering building in the way that would need to go and the road would also need to be rerouted (again). Maybe not impossible, but unlikely and also probably not necessary.

The WoL pavilion has mostly been gutted mostly down to bare metal and concrete inside. The former Body Wars and Cranium Command spaces combined amounts to approximately 40,000 square feet. If those two spaces could be combined together (which seems like it might be possible, that's a respectably large whole that could house a decently large dark ride. Especially if they use a ride system that is space efficient (as in something not trackless, maybe an omnimover or even just a traditional bus-bar like system). It's about the same square footage as WDW's Haunted Mansion or Ratatouille (not including the queue).

That also isn't really including the main "dome" lobby. Add that onto the size and the WoL pavilion is close to 85,000 square feet in total.
