Why do you say this? They are building a new building in Africa!
It would not be the first time something went down temporarily and never returned. Most recently, Spectro was being temporarily replaced during Summer Nightastic, 2009, with MSEP. Of the two, it was the better parade and had the better music. It was very popular.

2013, MSEP remains. Spectro has been chopped up.

Like I said, I don't expect it to go and never return, but with Disney, you never know for sure until it comes back.

That would be AMAZING (but I don't think it would happen in this case). DLR used to do it too - Light Magic has been on hiatus since September 1997. Rocket Rods went down for refurb in 2000 (IIRC) and...um...is still being refurbed?

You can see the new theater from Africa. It's identical. Nothing to worry about - it's actually impressive that the building was created so quickly. It takes time for them to move and install a show. Everything effect needs to get installed and such. The cast was told today the show is coming back.

But if you feel like creating new rumors, go ahead. It'll keep Friday fun.

Nobody is trying to create rumors. I have just learned from experience that Disney lies, so now I can't believe them.

Wow, lots of refurbs at DAK. I was just booking my FP+ for mid December, and both Kali and Adventurers Outposts were listed as down for Refurb. I assume they'll be back up for Christmas I guess...

I get the need for a six month close, but this is a big attaction to lose for that much time. Sometimes DAK seems more like a chore than anything else.

It really would be ridiculous if they get rid of Jammin Jungle AND FotLK in January. Wouldn't it make more sense to keep Jammin Jungle until FotLK reopens at least?

Agreed. If they are closing FOTLK, I think they should keep the parade until the new FOTLK show opens. Losing both of them for the spring is a real negative for the park.

Is there anything more substantial, however, about when the FOTLK show wil reopen? Jan 5 for closure seems firm, but is there any chance the new one will open for the busy spring break/Eastern time frame?

On the plus side, if this means actual construction for Pandora will begin shortly after the closure in Jan 5 then that's a good thing.

But that's a pretty poor comparison. It would be like if they took Spectro out, actually spend a bunch of money to refurb it and then just junked it without running it again. That didn't happen, they just never did anything to Sectro except leave it to rot.

Meanwhile, TDO is building a paying for a new FOLTK theater. You can see it being built. They aren't spending that money to just ditch the show and not bring it back. There will be a new show in the new theater once it is ready.

They'll actually probably use FOTLK being closed as the reason to close the parade too since there's a lot of cast overlap. Seriously though, that's what happened when they closed the DHS parade they also closed Disney Channel Rocks because of the casting overlaps. Since part of their shift was being removed (parade) they just cut DCR too.

That makes sense, but is really unfortunate. Does it offer any hope that some sort of a parade might return when FOTLK reopens?

Whoa! Knowing what used to be in that area, that pic is shocking (and painful). It was so pretty and wooded back there! That being said, pretty good progress on the theater.
