is that a reliable source? Honestly, the talent and enthusiasm of the performers is what makes the show as good as it is, and it would be a shame if the cast was put out of work.
a frigging a men.

I remember seeing the FOTLK 3 times in a week..
and the last one (sunday) .. the guy who did timon moved so damn well!
hugged pumba, acted fearful, waved to kids.. moved his hands perfectly in sync..
also loved the chubby lady performer (one of the main singers)

And I really hope the FOTLK opens by july, because I´m really temped to go again to WDW (maybe with a cruise too ) next year.

A handful of months seems about right. The actors will need time to get used to the new place, if there's a new layout (probably is)

Even if there is a new layout, it shouldn't take them more than one or two run-throughs to be performance ready. Broadway National Tours travel to dozens of venues per year...those performers don't need months to adjust to a new performance space (and yes, there can often be staging adjustments due to venue limitations).

About the only thing that I could see pushing for a longer rehearsal time than 3-4 weeks would be if they made significant changes by bringing in some of the aspects of the Hong Kong production. (New flying bird, revovling/rising stage, etc)

Gotta love political correctness.

As good as the show currently is, it would be nice to see these upgrades incorporated. But as usual, no sense in getting our hopes up.

Don't you find it funny that they can build this in 1 year but can't do a coaster in 3?

its harder to do something from zero and that is new (because you dont know many variations) vs something you already know, you already have the BASE..etc..
I can bet if they were to build cars land in WDW, it would be done faster and with less costs than the disneyland project, because they know WHAT to do and HOW to do it.

to resume.. inventing and implementing the tech is way too many times harder than REPLICATE it.

Not to mention this is a very simple structure and has no ride mechanics to deal with.

I don't think Disney has announced an official closing date, but the parks calendar doesn't show performance times for it beyond 1/5, but there are times for other shows like Finding Nemo.
That makes sense. I arrive 1/4 and I'm now trying to cram in FotLK, Osborne Lights, and Splash Mountain in the first two days.

Found this on OTPN:
"The latest issue of the Mickey Monitor (the newsletter that Walt Disney World Annual Passholders receive four times a year) officially made the following announcement: Catch [the Festival of the Lion King show] before January 5, 2014! It's your last chance to see Festival of the Lion King for six months."

I hope I'm safe If I go in september/october timeframe next year! XD
