Festival of the Lion King closes January 5th

According to the Festival of the Lion King page here on WDWMagic, the last time it was closed for refurb was August 25 to September 25 2003.
A lot can happen in 10 years of daily runs, and no refurb?
Getting people stirred up makes them take a look at what is happening, the complacent do not observe the world around them What makes you think that I do not write letters?,

The reason I am so BENT about Disney's current efforts is I'm a long time DVC member with a LARGE allocation of points and a consequently large expenditure on said points, And I feel as though Disney has done a bait and switch and is now not delivering the contracted service but a much devalued one.

I'm seriously conflicted about selling points do I sell them to some rube who does not really know what they are getting or do I take the hit sign the points back over to Disney and save the MF's. I'm thinking the latter because I would have a problem selling them with a clear conscience.

I have a rather busy professional life so simply do not have the cycles to organize a campaign.

A letter writing campaign will not make any difference however campaigns to break Disney's social media will have some effect. I especially liked taking the monorail shots and other exemplars and using the #DISNEYSIDE hashtag although accounts which do this will have a short life.

You are correct in one thing though I have no patience with those who think all is well at DIsney.

Then do it. You don't have to lead the program, but instead of just throwing around ideas start a thread for this purpose of disrupting of the #disneyside campaign. As I suggested in a previous thread, why not start up another Save Disney Campaign. You don't have to lead but you could be the one to start the thread which leads to the campaign.

XP was, and still is, a great general purpose OS. It took them at least 5 years to work the bugs out,(as best as possible) so now they decide to make it obsolete.
Windows 7 was just as bad as Vista and possible a little better than ME, and Windows 8 is certainly not designed for business purposes. It will take them another 5 years to make it functional and by that time they will have another new product to force upon the consumers.

Win7 is excellent and almost was from day 1. It benefitted from basically being vista fixed and reverting some of vistas less popular concepts.

Vista was a bridge too far and suffered all the interop pain due to it. An overbearing uac system, aero UI that was too much for the bargin pcs that were being sold, the first wave of 64bit interop, and the driver interop sunk vista. Xp just worked... While vista was effort. Win7 took the best of both and rocked it. Plus, since everyone had done all the interop work for vista... Win7 had a running start.

Xp is a dog in comparison to win7. Slow, unstable, and a security mess.

Don't forget that many Companies IT programs don't know the limitations of XP. My fathers business wanted to give him a new faster computer so they gave him an I7 with 8 gigs of ram on windows xp. And they were confused to why it ran so slow. The lack of support for more the 3.5gb and more then dual core processing.

As for windows 8. I am torn on it. I am currently using windows 8 at home and seven at work(and a macbook and tablet but thats beside the point). There are features that I love about windows 8 such at hitting the windows key and typing what you want to look for. That is nice search utility, but they don't tell that it's there. But windows 8.1 is currently having lag issues with the mouse. Seriously, we have been using mice for decades, this shouldn't be an issue.

you could always go for an online petition(with CC to local or worldwide newspapers). sometimes it works to stir the pot a little.

no SSD support too.
one of the few highlights of windows 8 is.. how fast it boots with a SSD.. faster than Windows 7.
to counter point, the mess of the APP VS APPLICATIONS are annoying.
Skype APP for windows 8 vs the real program for example..

One Little Spark...
My only problem with 2008 and 2012 is that they require indexing to handle searches, and some servers will not allow indexing, those clients are screwed. I could be wrong, but is there a way to turn that off.
The Indexing Service is depreciated starting with Server 2008. If you are referring to Windows Search, the service can be disabled in services.msc.

Six months is insanely long. It could be done far quicker if they wanted to give guests the full experience they paid for.

Well, full except for the Yeti. And the Dino net. And the logging fire....
I know you have the Dino net on your video, but I don't recall that being there on opening day, nor does it look like a particularly good effect. I would much rather have a return of full motion in the Alioramus than the projected net on the Iguanadon.

Hopefully, we'll be getting the 'Hong Kong' version:

Their Festival of the Lion King, has a multi-level, rotating stage that comes out of the floor!

Sorry, but can someone post a picture of the said net?

Great pictures on the news page of the progress being made. The new structure is in keeping with the quality expected and vastly better than the current "temporary" building.

Very encouraging. Hopefully the inside is also 'Imagineered' properly.

Not sure how you can tell the final "quality" of the new theater from those pictures, especially since it's just un-finished concrete at the moment.

Compare and contrast with the existing FotLK structure. Then the light bulb will go on for you.
