Isnt the opening the Mickey and Minnie with the balloon?
From what I've gathered, the Mickey and Minnie Balloon float is attached to the end of the Dumbo/Pinnochio float. I see this as more of a grand finale, since Mickey and Minnie always completely begin/end parades, but it works as the entrance unit as well. My only thing if it ends the parade, I can't quite figure out what the entrance float would be, and vice versa. Hopefully the announcement next week tells us more than just revealing the dragon (it's a dragon, I just know it is, Disney please don't let me down).

I would prefer Pinnochio/Dumbo/Mickey and Minnie being the opening float with a much bigger grander finale float. However considering Mickey and Minnies Balloon is 35 feet tall it more than likely will be the finale.

And I agree I hope next weeks announcement will be more than just revealing the dragon (Hope it is) :). They did say there will be a update soon on the construction of the other floats. Hopefully a video with Steve!

I heard there will be a maleficent float! A giant dragon with Prince Phillip.
You get a gold star.

The parade does have a large dragon float that will breathe fire. I have hinted about it in the past here ( http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/...s-15th-anniversary.875370/page-2#post-5757359 ), but now I see that mnelson3 has already let the cat, err, dragon out of the bag.
You get a gold star.

from what iv been told the Dragon is suppose to be "steampunk"/mechanical looking.
You get a gold star.

I hope this parade is best day parade they have ever put together ....yet I still expect to see some bashers on here after it first debuts. I'm looking forward to it....it shows they still really can do good things when the green light is lit haha

There will always be negative opinions. That's what makes the world go 'round. But people that find negative in this new parade will be those just looking for a reason to bash "TDO" as so many post on here.

Hold on, hold on, let me do my prediction...

"I'm SO glad they spent money on this instead of new attractions! Just what we need, a parade to remind us how awesome Princesses are. They probably collaborated with the rest area design team! Back in the 90's, parades were magical experiences! Blah blah Universal is better blah blah MEG!!!"

Indeed, there are a lot of princesses, but their floats aren't all made of glitter. The garden float has gorgeous floral designs and colors, and rotates. The Tangled float is a viking ship with thugs swinging from the weaponry. The Little Mermaid float takes it's inspiration from a music box. Brave's float is a giant bagpipe: enough said. Sleeping Beauty's float has a giant mechanical dragon with the potential to spit flames: more than enough said. We should be praising the uniqueness of each float, not stripping them down to a common denominator.

I'm not looking forward to the potential bashing of this parade. Seriously, Steve Davison finally gets to produce something in Florida after 10+ years since Wishes, and 13+ years since the last afternoon parade. Can we at least celebrate that?

Anyone that bashes this parade is not a true Disney fan IMO. It will mostly be people that do not even like or appreciate parades.

As far as im concerned Steve should be fully in charge of all entertainment at WDW from now on! If it wasn't for him MK would probably be getting something similar to CADCT if not a 4th remake!

Im thinking at some point it will be both day and evening but it doesn't sound like it will start off like that. IMO it should since its going to be extremely popular!
Let me put it this way... you don't build a fire-breathing dragon float to show it off in the daytime. This parade is designed to be used around sunset. And with MiceChat's news that Disneyland wants the Electrical Parade back for their 60th, I think it's a safe assumption that this new parade will become Magic Kingdom's only parade. (Which is fine, "Move it, Shake it, Celebrate it" is a lot of fun in the daytime.)
