Festival of Fantasy Parade coming to Magic Kingdom in 2014

Considering Christmas will be the only time of the year the float will ever be seen, I can live with that. In regards to FOF, with an expected opening in a month, I'm surprised an official date hasn't been announced.

OT, but didn't Mickey Mania run FL to MSUSA?

Edit - yes it did.

Same for Remember the Magic if memory serves.
Mickey Mania-CADCT with the Villas unit. It changed back to TS to Splash because of Mass Exits after Parades?? Of course CADCT ran from Splash on special and questionable weather days. We'll see if FOF is weather tough. Also, OUACTP runs Splash-TS. Do they start OUACTP early sometimes because of crowds? I've always wondered that.

Crowd wise, TS to Splash is preferable, especially in the evening. People can exit if they so wish after the parade has past. Running the other way has potentially thousands of guests all heading for the exit at the same time behind the final float.

Now I think about it, I did see DDCT running Splash to TS.

Mickey mania & a couple other day time parades started at splash for a few years in in an effort to get more guests to exit the park/follow the parade out of the park, down ms.....

Fof and Christmas both will run from fl due to backstage logistics.
Backstage logistics??? I know OUCTP runs during the busiest weeks of the year and MK could use all the free space in the park they can get but, what backstage logistics does FOF have to worry about? Would this apply even if FOF takes over for MSEP?

The decision for direction of the parade can vary from day to day based on attendance and guest flow issues.

I had a dream while I was taking a nap today that my family went to WDW and happened to arrive near MK a few minutes before the parade debuted. We were driving around in a car, and we happened to drive past a backstage float area where I saw the big dragon. Then we watched the parade go down Main Street (but of course being a dream, was nothing like the actual parade).

It was a pretty cool dream. :p

Just saw a tweet that looked like a Re Tweet about Frozen and FOF. I'm writing this because at the end of the tweet, it said: 15 more days!! Weather it's 15 days till that person's trip or the actual parade IDK. But it looked intresting.

Here's hoping that between March 2014 when FOF first steps on Main Street and Nov 2015 when I will get a chance to see it live that the "suits & ties" wont cut anything. The costumes, the floats and everything I have read sounds AMAZING. This would be a parade I would be willing to sit around to wait for. But if the "suits & ties" start making cuts...~~shudders at the thought~~ To all of those that will get to see it when if first steps off LUCKY DOGS YOU!

I watched the first performance of CADCT and when it first debuted I have to say it was a pretty decent parade. Then you fast forward 6 months from its debut and at least 30 percent of the parade was cut, so I have a feeling we'll be seeing the same thing happen with FOF.

I have seen some of the old video's of CADCT and I am hoping they don't cut it, but with TDO you can never be sure.

I have FAITH, HOPE & maybe a little PIXIE DUST that the suits don't make cuts, but well TDO is to well known to cut things and not replace them for years if at all.

The more I look at this, the more I roll my eyes at someone calling this "steampunk".
It looks more like something a renaissance blacksmith (or witch) would build, rather than a Victorian machinist.

I suppose the artist concept does have more of a renaissance look to it, maybe something Leonardo like, but the actual dragon lends more to machinist, I think. But that's just my opinion.
