The buses are by far the most practical transportation on the property. I don't think anyone would argue about their efficiency and convenience, but a bus is just a bus. There's nothing particularly "Disney" about buses. :) They're just sort of there.

*sigh* You do have a point... Something I wish I had more power and influence over. There are so many things I would like to see done with Disney Transport to make it more fun and exciting for the guests...

However, the best I can do is make my own bus ride the most exciting, fun, and memorable bus ride they've ever had. And while most people enjoy my chatter... they'll get off the bus and move along... There are a bunch of people who will of course remember me... and then say, "Hey! It's Bob the Monorail Pilot!" and that's always a great thing... ("Bob the Monorail Pilot" is part of my speil... I'll say, "Once again folks, My name is Tyler, and on behalf of Chip & Dale, we hope you've enjoyed your ride with us this evening. However, if you did not enjoy my jokes or this ride, my name is Bob, and this has been the Walt Disney World Monorail System." Always gets a good laugh... hehe)

The one special thing about Disney busses and bus drivers though, that sets them apart from others... For me... it's my Chip & Dale bus... if I'm running my last run out of the park after it closes, I'll have Chip & Dale on my marquee. I've had guests get out of thier car to take pictures of me and my bus and the plush chipmunks on the dash... They love it. And if I've just emptied out my last guests... and I have some time left over before I have to clock out... and I see some guests waiting to get somewhere, I'll take 'em. Often times I'll see some guests that had dinner at one resort, and need to get back to thier resort, so I'll just take them directly. The flexibility that my job has allows me to make people happy... that's why I think the busses can be great. :)

So if you ever see a Chip & Dale bus at night... chances are it's me taking someone home. :)

I think its great when the drivers are chatty! You're right, it makes a BIG difference. :D

It's more than just a bus!

Tyler...err Fantasi Boi makes an excellent point. Over the years I have learned more interesting Disney trivia from the WDW bus drivers than anyone else. Also, as Fantasi Boi notes, many of the drivers have very professional routines they use to entertain ALL the guests and that is not an easy thing to do. Also on some occasions I have had drivers actually change their assigned route just to accommodate the needs of my family. Sometimes its almost as if the bus becomes your private taxi. So, I think when you take all of the aforementioned into consideration it's a lot more than "just riding a bus". Oh, and thank you Tyler. Well be looking for you on our next trip. You sound like my kind of driver!

"monorail, monorail, monorail"

Hey, whatever anyone says.. pollution, convenience, fun... the buses always make me wait at least 20 minutes, and a monorail doesn't shoot a load of diesel fumes in my face...

my car.. it's just quicker. Plus, the monorail is inconvenient for me, I am not getting on watercraft, a Tazi is too expensive, walking is good, but pointless in some areas, and Tyler is the ONLY disney bus driver I trust (sorry.. but my car was clipped by a Disney bus a few months back, and my old jeep was totalled in the parking lot by a WDW bus. not to mention Tylers horror story about a WDW bus driver getting lost and leaving the bus in suburban Ocoee, FL while the guests had no idea what was going on

I love the monorail, so I'll put that as my first pick, then second is definetely the ferry boats because I like riding on boats and third is the shuttle busses because there's no other type of bus like it, the WDW busses are almost always clean and comfortable (most of the time) But I once saw a bus driver really yell at these teenage boys, I didn't know Cast Members are allowed to yell at guests, but they were being bad (if I remember it correctly, hanging on the bars that you are supposed to stand and hold onto)

Monorail, probobly between the smooth quick ride to the parks and the, "Please Stand Clear of the doors, por favor men tengan ce alejado de las puertas." does it for me. (I'm not sure if I spelled the spanish words right)

its not a disney trip for me unless i ride the monorail. When i have gone when i was younger alot of times my family would just miss the monorail to epcot (my mom walks slower than molasses) we would get talking to the cm while waiting for the next one He or she would say guess what i am taking over as a driver of the next monorail would you like to ride up front . We would all jump at that chance its great riding up front . Alot of times the cm would tell you things that you never knew and things that are happening so that is why i love the monorail

I would have to say the River Cruise from Port Orleans to Downtown Disney. It's the only transportation I would consider as entertaining as an attraction. The monorails are great as well, as is the walk from International Gateway to the Boardwalk at night.

Even though we have a boat in our yard, and can boat ride anytime we want, we still love to take the boats anytime we can at WDW.

Monorail! - its quick n fast I love ridin in monorails.. but I wish there was an expansion for it for all the resorts.. it would be much better to get everyone loaded on 1 train instead of the bus and take a quicker route to each theme parks.

But itll never happen!

I would say the Monorail. Maybe I'm a bit jaded since the first six years 71-76 we stayed in the contempoary garden wings on the parking lot side and watched the Monorail crusing by when in the room.

and I guess since my dad always seemed to get us up front with the pilot on every ride we always chated with the them and got some exelcent information about what was going on for the next year I thought it was way cool especially when I was ten.
