Favorite Thing by far is Cirque... World of Disney is overwhelming, and in DTD's "reimagining", the entire area has become less of a draw. Dear Disney - please make DTD be how it used to be before PI's closure....:(

If you're there in time for breakfast, the breakfast pita pocket at Wolfgang Puck Express is 8 shades of awesome. I still enjoy DisneyQuest if you've got it as an option on your tickets, though I wouldn't recommend spending extra for it. It's basically all about shopping, eating and people-watching, unless there's something happening on the stage. And if the weather is not accommodating, there's always the Googolplex Cinema.

Heading for the great escape.
These days I find I can fulfil my generic tat needs in most park shops so see little value in visiting the location.

Its hardly City Walks is it.

For food Earl of Sandwich is amazing. Disney Quest is fun but also very crowded I often left before doing much of anything. Overall, I've had a great time browsing the shops, but I especially like the Disney Art store. There's one in most of the parks(MK,Epcot) but this one is the best.

We like to do lunch at either Earl of Sandwich or Cookes of Dublin, then do a little shopping in the Marketplace, get a coffee at Ghirardelli and then take a boat ride or two across the lake and maybe to POR and POFQ.

Like most of the other posters, I love hitting up the Earl of Sandwich at least a couple of times while there... I also grab a slush at Goofy's Candy Co, and make my own rice krispie treat... mmm... slush...

We usually hit Downtown Disney the night we arrive also and save a park for our first FULL day there the next day. We usually hit up Disney Quest for a couple of hours and then window shop for the rest of the night before returning to Pop for a good night's sleep! Gets me in a DISNEY mood right away!!! :sohappy:

Definately hit DQ if it is included with your ticket, it is a lot of fun for a few hours.

My all time favourite thing to do in DTD was to browse in the huge Virgin Megastore, unfortuantely i won't be able to do that this trip.

As many have mentioned the Earl is great.

I also like Ragland Road. Excellent burgers and fun entertainment in the evenings.

Paradisio 37 has an interesting menu--we tried a bunch of the appetizers and had fun sharing.

Capn' Jacks has ok food, but the view at night is spectacular.

T-Rex and Rain Forrest aren't really Disney, but they are usually easy to get seated, if you don't want to wait ask to eat at the bar.

We have started every Disney vacation with DTD. Check in, get on a bus to DTD. It's a given. As with the other posters, Earl is the best for sandwiches. Just can't get them like that anywhere else. We don't do Quest or Cirque, just not into spending the extra cash for that although I'm sure they're great. Of course there's World of Dis for the things you can't find anywhere else in the country but honesly, we just love walking around and the scenery. Our favorite pics have been from DTD. It's really a beautiful place on the lake and lots of great things to take beautiful pictures of with your family. You can spend as much as you want or nothing at all. No matter, you'll have a great time. And we get back to the resort, swim, relax and are ready to hit the parks in high gear the next day. :sohappy:

We love getting the chocolate sodas at Ghirardelli's, and have to at least walk through the Christmas store (smells SO good in there!). The World of Disney, Pin Booth, TrenD, Lego store, Once Upon a Toy, and Goofy's Candy Co. are all frequent stops. Also love Earl of Sandwich, but don't get there too frequently for some reason. One of these days we'll stop at Wolfgang Puck Cafe, but we just haven't made it there yet. There's just nothing quite like rewarding your shopping efforts by washing the experience down with a chocolate soda...perfect. :)

If you cant find things to do for a whole day, you can always grab a 5 minute taxi to the premium outlet mall. I know its not 'Disney' but it may be something different to do.

I was very sad to see the Virgin Megastore gone on my last visit :(

Can't wait to try Earl next trip after reading all these good reviews from you guys! :sohappy:

On a DTD related side note...how much does a ticket for the Cirque show cost per person and do you have to buy them in advance as opposed to walking up to the gate at show time? My wife and I are debating if it is worth checking out next March when we are down there.

Tickets range in price from $69-$120, depending on where you'd like to sit. You can purchase tickets online if you would like, right here:

Not sure about their availability in terms of walking up to the gate, as every time we have gone we have elected to purchase tickets in advance so we have a better selection of seats. I highly recommend going- it's an amazing show!

Cool...I think we might just bite the bullet and go this time then! Thanks
