Favorite (and best) queue?

God bless the "Ignore" button.
Technically, Forbidden Journey is the best, hands down. ET is my favorite, though, as it was the first attraction I ever did at Uni (back in my Pixie Dusting days), and was the first time I saw something that made me question my loyalty to the Mouse. Then I went on the ride and simply questioned the sobriety of the ride designers...

At Disney, though, my favorite is Tower of Terror with Little Mermaid being the best technically.

So as the title suggests I thought it might be fun to discuss your favorite queue line and why it you might be partial to it.

So go ahead and discuss...BUT the discussion should have nothing at all to do with the actual ride, only the queue and why you think it deserves top honors.

I couldn't make up my mind between two attractions... So I divided them with "favorite" and "best" :p

My favorite queue line is honestly DINOSAUR. I love that big round room and the pre-show elements. It's really neat :3

But in my opinion for BEST queue line, I'm guessing I'll give that one to Tower of Terror. It DEFINITELY leads up to the ride very well xD

As much as I wanted to put space mountain on this list for making it feel like you're walking into space, I honestly hate it. Just because it takes to dang long to get to the ride (even when it's empty! \(-.-)/)

Post a pic?

I do LOOOOOOVVVEEE Uni's E.T. Adventure queue line a lot too!! Well, the second half. The first half is just an outdoor queue with TVs.

But by golly after waiting outside, got done with the pre-show, AAANND after you get your name ticket........ The indoor queue is soooooo nicely themed! It's my all time favorite ride queue:3 I love how E.T.'s father or whatever comes out in the middle and is searching for him or whatever. (although the AA isn't that great)

Although pictures don't really capture the experience very well..

Universal has some pretty nice attraction queues..

Spiderman
Revenge of the mummy
Forbidden Journey
Poseidon's Fury (although VERY boring after waiting forever. Still greatly themed)
Dudley Doo Right

..wow I'm going through all of these and am actually quite surprised at how well Universal handles queue lines o: Maybe almost slightly better than Disney...... Naaahhh.. :angelic:

Number one for me by far is IJA at Disneyland.

But for WDW, I'd have to say PotC, ST and Space Mtn all tie for me, for vastly different reasons. The one thing they all have in common though is their ability to completely transport you to another place and time, so that you are absolutely oblivious to your actual current surroundings. To me, that's the effective measure of a queue.
You took the words right out of my mouth. The queue at the MK Pirates is probably the best part of the ride (compared to DL's version) and is my standard of "this is what a great themed queue is." That doesn't mean it is the best IMO, IJA is, but Pirates is still what I think of when I think of great queues.

I agree,

It is the ride that from the moment you walk in you suddenly are somewhere else. All Disney rides are good at this but that is the one that always sticks out to me. Also I don't know why but the dining area in PoTC at Disneyland always struck me as really cool, to the point I get a little disappointed that WDW doesn't have the same.

My favorites beyond that are ST and TOT. TOT is similar to pirates in that you are feel that it was lived in, used and then just abandoned.

I do have to say that I love the queue on TLM... but one thing that had me laughing when we were at MK on Friday was how DH was completely enthralled with the standby queue for Space Mountain. We rode it twice in a row right before the park closed (literally walked up at 11:45, rode once, got back in line at 11:58 and rode again lol) and on the second time, as we were walking through the queue area, DH kept getting distracted by everything and stopping to look around all those lightup buttons were just begging for him to push them! People were walking past us because he was so curious haha. He's like a big kid, I guess ;)

Disney: ToT, Space Mountain, Kali River Rapids

Universal: E.T., Revenge of the Mummy, Forbidden Journey, and a mention to the old Dueling Dragon's queue (R.I.P.)

MK - Haunted Mansion & TLM!
EPCOT - Mission Space & Test track (can't help it, I love cars!)
AK - Only ever queued at A bug's life LOL... fastpass everything!
HS - Star Tours & Tower of Terror

But my favorite queues of all time belong to Universal...
E.T. because I just think walking through the "forest" adds so much to the overall experience.
Definitely Forbidden Journey, I love the talking pictures! No matter how many times I walk through it, it still blows my mind!
And after seeing pictures & videos, I'm certain Gringotts will be a new favorite queue of mine.

MK - PotC, Jungle Cruise, TLM, HM, BTMR
EP - Mission Space and Nemo
AK - EE & Kali
HS - Star Tours & ToT
Universal IoA - HPFJ, Spider-Man, Doom's FearFall (better than the ride, IMHO)
If I had to rate them in order:

5) Jungle Cruise (esp at night. If not so many switchbacks, i'd rate it far higher, as I love the soundtrack and feel of prepping for an expedition)
4) PotC
3) EE
2) ToT (esp the queue soundtrack)
1) HP FJ - jaw dropping effects. I still can't fathom the paintings and the projections

Forbidden Journey is probably the best queue I've ever experienced, although the outdoor Herbology section is also probably the worst part of a queue I've ever experienced; so many rows in such a stuffy location - I'm not a fan. Although the indoor section is excellent!

Disney-wise, I do enjoy Everest's queue and the build up through the Yeti museum, BUT Tower of Terror's is eerie, perfectly executed and full of nostalgia for me. It has the ultimate build-up; you begin outside in the overgrown gardens (especially creepy when the mist effects are working!), then you enter the abandoned lobby and the 1930s music sets the scene while you look at all the arranged furniture that crafts this fantastic, ghostly atmosphere; heck, even the air conditioning adds some extra chill as you walk through the doors. Then - into the library (admittedly the pre-show can grow tiresome on repeat visits, but I'll never forget the anticipation I felt when I first listened to Serling "Tonight, you are the star..."). AND THEN, things get really grisly in the basement; low-lit, flickering lights, the sights and sounds of ancient machinery - the entire narrative is communicated through the queue. Without it, the ride wouldn't carry anywhere near as much impact; I think its one of Imagineering's greatest accomplishments.
