Fatal Accident involving Disney Bus (12/15)

I rarely post in this section of the forum because of the type of things posted within this thread by others. I don't understand why this young woman has not been allowed to die without the baseless conjecture offered here that leave her as a drunken or suicidal moron, as opposed to someone who worked a hard shift and made a simple yet tragic mistake. A little compassion would go a long way when mixed with wisdom and discretion.

She was a front desk Cast Member at Coronado Springs who was leaving work when the accident happened. Regardless of the details, it is amazing how many people are willing to pass judgement on someone they don't know. It happened and a young girl is now no longer with us because of it.

May she rest in peace and comfort be with her family and the entire Coronado Springs family.
Couldn't say it better, exactly so!!! Marie

People! A young woman died, due to a momentary lapse in judgement. Enough speculating as to any other cause. It is a tragedy whenever a life is cut short.
While I agree with everything in your post, there is value in the discussion of what may amount to a cautionary tale.

I respectfully disagree with you based on your statement, and I respectfully ask that you read why as I make a few false statements.

"Did you hear that RSoxNo1 died? I'll bet that he was a fatty fat who died of clogged arteries. What a cautionary tale!"

"No, I'll bet that he was a heavy drinker and his death was the result of alcohol poisoning. What a cautionary tale!"

"Personally, I think that he was diabetic and he ate a bunch of candy on purpose because he hated life. What a cautionary tale!"

It would all sound insulting, hurtful, and ridiculous to your wife if she used Google. This is all I'm saying regarding this woman. No one here knew her or witnessed the accident. Please allow this young woman to die without the drivel being offered here by a crowd of people who don't possess the wisdom to show a little discernment.

Here's a valid question. The OP states that the accident happened around 2am. There were 20 people aboard the Disney transport bus. What would have been going on that would have required transportation at 2 am ?

Late bus from DtD? Only way to get anywhere late at night is through that bus loop.

No, the bus was headed westbound on BVD and was going straight thru the intersection, according to the FHP report. The victim was turning from southbound Western Way to eastbound BVD.

THIS.. Prayers to this young woman's family who lost a daughter/sibling/wife/girlfriend/best friend... Who cares WHY THIS HAPPENED?? And what the hell difference it makes as to "why were there were 20 guests in a Disney bus at 2AM?!"? I work and live within 7 miles of Disney Property and she was a local resident..i may have interacted with this cast member at one time or another.. May she RIP

Are you implying there are cameras at every light on property? I never saw them being extremely big brother on property outside of building but maybe I'm wrong.

Being on your phone is not an offense in Florida and unless you are recklessly driving while on your phone it is 100% legal to have a conversation.

A college friend of mine from New Jersey pulled over on interstate 287 this year, if you google just that you should get multiple articles on it. He had just gotten married the year prior, had a recent promotion, had a beautiful child, and pretty much the world at his fingers tips. This didn't stop him from proceeding to walk right into oncoming traffic. Point is, we'll never know if it was a mistake unless an autopsy says the death was related to some sort of medical condition or if we were the driver of the vehicle. You never know and people have just as much right to speculate that she was drunk or committed suicide as you do to say how dare they because we'll never know. It sounds bad but the reality is sometime people do these things regardless of how close you are to them and regardless of how everyone else sees them.

No I'm saying that there is a camera on every single Disney bus.

The number of people that are uncaring on this website no longer suprises me. At least there are some who do care based upon their posts.

You know, last week, not far from where I live, a plane crashed into a neighborhood, killed all three aboard, killed a mom and two young sons. The dad and one sibling who were not home survived. I want some of you careless and unsympathetic goons to realize that others have had losses and problems way deeper than anything some people may have pressing at the moment. Put yourselves in the family's shoes and pretend that was someone you loved, someone you were related to and ask yourself.......Would I be acting like this if they were someone I loved? Would I appreciate it?

If your answer is No, then congratulations, you are a human being. If your answer is yes, then you are not a person many of us should converse with.

I have seen, witnessed and been near enough death in my life to never want to deal with, witness or be near it. What I have learned is compassion, I suggest some of you learn it the easy way, I had to learn the hard tough way.

I won't be a part of this insensitive thread after I hit the post reply button this time around.

And if they are like the ones that we had on our city buses, they are extremely clear (digital) and are pointed forward through the windshield and backward on each side of the bus and in the interior. They keep track of everything, that the driver does during that time as well even to the point of when the driver let up on the accelerator and exactly when they applied the brakes and, of course, the speed traveled at the time. There are no secrets anymore.

Not sure on all of those details but yes, they're digital and yes, they face forward. (One forward, one on driver, one down the side of the bus and one other view I can't remember)

There is usually at least one focused on the passengers with microphones in strategic location within the bus. They are used in the event of a situation on the bus, or to show who is on board during an accident (you would be amazed at how many people see an accident and if the pockets are deep enough will include themselves as a passenger) The key ones, of course, during an accident are the forward and side cameras. All the rest of the information (i.e. speed, braking, etc.) are monitored in the same system electronically.

I fear that you have either missed my point, or I have done a poor job in communicating my point. You see, it's about showing a degree of compassion and empathy toward others. It's not about rights. That's not the issue. Please allow me to illustrate. A person walks into a room with a scar on his face. I have a right to communicate and ask how they got the scar, just as a ten year old child would ask. However, as an adult my sense of wisdom and decorum should lead me to remain quiet regarding my idle curiosity. Why? Because it spares that individual the awkward discomfort of dealing with the disfigurement, and in truth it's none of my business. I'm an adult and I should know better than to always act according to my "rights". It used to be called "showing a little class". Now it's just all about personal and unrestrained rights. What we forget is that rights should always come with responsibilities. Talk about this person's theoretical actions for all it's worth to you. Me, I prefer to show a little class.
