That's only a half-measure, though.
Rather than trying to manage both a standby and Fastpass queue, why not make all attractions pay-per-ride?

Anyone else think there is no way Standby Pass will come to WDW? To me if they did that then they'd have to get rid of the park hopping ticket because you'd never know when your return window would be nor how long you're actually going to be in line.
Also what if you're in line for another attraction and you miss your return window.
This has disaster and confusion written all over it.

Again 100+ pages later I'm sticking with a paid version that's more similar to FP+ or Maxpass rather than the DPA.

From the way it was explained (and active in DLP) is that you can obtain a standby pass for free which gives you a time to return to a ride once the line is closed due to capacity. But when you return you wait in a long line. Not like FP+ or ROTR virtual queue which are better approaches. (It would be the supposed free component of DPA.)

Standby pass would have to have a return time to get back in the shorter line.

There are 8 lines 70 or more minutes as we speak. 6 are 75 mins or more. 5 are 80 or more. 2 of them are 90 and 135 minutes (FOP).

Question...what's your excuse right now FP haters?

They’d just say that lines would be 20 or 30 minutes longer than they are right now. Which completely misses the point that you can’t do a single headliner without waiting over an hour whereas previously you got to do 3.

Very possible but the crowds in October - December will be crazy and the guest experience will likely suffer

I guess they can just keep blaming Covid

Not sure why they wouldn't just roll it out now and test it in order to tweak it if necessary? (like they did with BG's)

Yeah I mean seriously. The shortest ride wait time at HS right now is Star Tours at 40 minutes and the only other ride at less than an hour is swirling saucers at 45 minutes. And that’s with 4 resorts still closed and others like the contemporary partially shuttered for renovations. I’m seriously worried for my October trip.
