Such a flawed argument. Are your comparing one boat to 4 parks and 2 water parks? Do you know Epcot is larger than the island of Manhattan? Just makes ZERO sense in any way you try to spin it.

You do know that DCL has more than one boat right?

What matters is not how many there are of something - but how the capacities and usage line up and the management of those resources.

Simple fact remains... vacation on a DCL boat and you won't go through this non-sense WDW has conditioned you to believe is how things need to be. Heck, every other vacation I go on doesn't require this micro-management.

Like I said, goto Discovery Cove or do a cruise (hrmm.. both limited capacity things... maybe we are onto something!) and go back to how vacationing should be. Not trying to layout a gantt chart to see where we'll be on Tuesday.

You know fairness it isn't a whole lot different in Universal. You have a general population that pay the admittance fee to attend the park, and then a smaller population that spends extra on the express pass. And even smaller population that gets it with their resorts. It hasn't been the doom and gloom there that everybody is making it out to be for Disney, if they even go with a similar concept which has not been actually announced.
The problem is that I don’t see anyway Disney manages to balance out groups as you describe.

way more people in rooms that would need to “qualify”…and I suspect way more people willing to pay and flood the system

Wait….you are firing arrows at the operation of the parks…but holding DCL on a pedestal?

this is good.

(somebody ask him for me…he doesn’t respond to me. Must have stole his toy or something?)

Yeah you’re right. I’m here in 2009. Epcot opened at 8 am today so i had to get my 3, 6 and 7 year old up at 6am to eat and we got ready. Almost made it for rope drop but just missed by 5 mins. We RAN to Soarin! Scored a 6:55pm FP Psyched! Can’t wait to wait in standby lines all day a d do this again tomorrow! So much fun!

You really can't fathom anything other than what Disney has already fed you...

Are you saying that’s not what happened?
Of course it happened. We went to WDW before fast passes of any kind and were happy with legacy when it came out. But your experience was very much like ours. The only difference is that we had to wait around for hours for our return time for either Splash or Space. Soarin' was out of the question because that was an evening park for us. It was sold out by the time we got there every time.

Winner winner chicken dinner! So FP+ was better than FP. We’ve established that. Will paid FP be better than FP+ is the real question.

my guess is all the people whining about FP+ will be begging for it in a year.

Nevermind him…black widow is out and he’s probably “charting”

There are 3 types of APs by my count:

1. locals…the “pop ins”
2: DVC…the “demanders”
3: far away/out of state (group California Disney nuts here too)…make a trip out of it even if they don’t have too

I believe current management hates 2 outta the 3

Do they care/want people in the park that aren’t app/micro transactions savvy?

that’s almost rhetorical.
You don’t have to be tech savvy to order expensive food, pay admissions, buy merch or stay at a deluxe resort. If they changed things much more, you will.

Seriously. What has this world come to when people believe their own actual experience instead of what someone else tells them on the internet.
Or… there is more than the two possibilities he is considering and willing to consider.

crazy talk isn’t it?

once can like the idea of digital FP… or even advance reservations… without “bring back FP+ its awesome!!”

Flynnibus back to his old negative ways with false narratives. It’s ok, it’s what this forum is used to but nobody usually calls him out
