Please, no more minimum wage debate.

in a way, it’s kind of the same problem, though.

If minimum wage had been tied to some sort of index, we wouldn’t be having this weird debate now where some people think it should double or more and other’s think it’s fine as it is.

… Sort of like if Disney had been working on the capacity problem in the parks all along rather than just trying to figure out the best ways to profit from it, we wouldn’t have a bunch of angry people on one side and a bunch of people saying “look how bad it is - what do you expect them to do?” On the other.

That would lower the potential revenue - my guess - by taking away the stress of heat/crowds from the decision to purchase something you don’t need…under duress of course.

if your management is Walmart grade hacks….they stock the Mountain Dew isle at all costs
Yes, possibly... but it would be revenue locked in weeks or months ahead of time.

The one case where they don’t want that…no set value
They could, after a while, figure out what the 'right' number is (based on the results of the in-park bidding wars for various times of day, week, year, etc.) and then charge that amount, or maybe the median amount... something. It's a bit like locking people in to DVC. There's value to getting the money sooner, and there's value to me to spend it to lock in a plan.

@Sirwalterraleigh you laugh, but there have been multiple times that I've replaced entire wardrobes that are about to be outgrown only to have to replace the new clothes a month later (and I buy a size bigger than they need!). I have 2 boys (10 and 15) and I swear sometimes I blink and my oldest has outgrown me by another inch.

Boys will do that…I grew 7” when I was 17
It's not outside the realm of possibility...my father is 6'4" and my mom was 5'2". I was lucky I didn't end up enormous because I'm very much nearly a 50/50 split of their genes. My oldest, however, definitely leans towards my father's side. (They're both heavy on my genes with a touch of hubby's. There's a familial resemblance with a few cousins on hubby's side, but that's it. They look almost exactly like I did at their ages. The men on hubby's side are all tall, too.)

I've given up buying my son underwear. I just point him to a grocery bag when he goes looking for something that'll fit these days....

His mother thinks that's "bad" but it worked fine for swimming trunks the last time we went to the beach so I don't know what her problem is. 😒
