I would say that’s a tad conspiratorial. There is a lot of negative feedback

Which is then used to massage the planning the right way

where does everyone think “due to guest feedback” came from?

if you or I think afterhours sucks and is a blatant attempt to resell the same day tickets with the same employees (purely hypothetical)…they tell me that people on MY TEAM love it…and we take pause/ reconsider.

that’s not even a 400 level class trick.
I'm not saying ALL surveys by Disney are like that - but I've seen several that are.

I can't understand a word you're saying.

Messaging/Delivery from whom and to whom?
The “I can’t hear you…” tactic.

here’s what I mean (small words)

they’re cutting costs or raising prices on a particular product or program…pick any…

they poll and ask questions that gauge the range of feedback (usually disguised amongst other deliberate outlier questions)…

so with the data crunched…they developed how to attack the cost increases/product reduction.

Because the decision wasn’t up for debate. Just the strategy.

“messaging”. Designed to illicit a specific response, draw attention or divert attention.

I often wonder if sometimes their surveys aren't used to elicit a "HOLY CARP. Aren't we glad we didn't get that option that was on that survey six months ago? This may not be great...but that other option was TERRIBLE!" reaction from certain segments of guests.

We are already paying for 3 line skips. When that was removed the admission price was not reduced. So anyone who pays for this system is indeed paying twice for something.

This isn't FP
You didn't pay for FP before anyways - so you can't claim you were already paying for it

Yes, they are removing stuff and still charging you for more. But that doesn't mean we make up our own facts and twists to justify the disfavor for what is happening.

Did anyone make the complaint that "they were already paying for extra hours" when Disney reduce them? Or did anyone claim "we already paid for that attraction to be open" when Disney changes their lineup. No.. it's a contrived complaint that makes bad associations to try to justify a pre-defined point. Having value reduced is not the same thing as being charged twice for something.

I think this system will be awful too - but that doesn't mean we make things up to make it sound worse.

No. You had the privilege of being able to make 3 Fastpasses in advance. That's it. They were free and not skip the line passes either.
Essentially Disney was doing you a favor.

Has it been confirmed that the line skip in DPA is not going to be called "fast pass"? We do not know that or any the details for that matter. So indeed, if the line pass you purchased is called a fast pass and you walk through a fast pass entrance of a ride then you are indeed paying for something you've never paid for. If it is something completely different then it's more like a service was taken away. If they change the name of it but ot serves the same purpose then I'd also consider it a service we once had for free and now we have to pay.

It's called Disney Premier Access. For all intents and purposes it's Fast Pass but you are paying for your return time.

I call BS, I do not buy it for a second. The vast majority of Disney guests would not be happy going in knowing they had to pay to walk on any rides. I do not believe that they would "like" or "ask" to spend more money. Some (including me) might be inclined to pay for extra fast passes at certain times but not to pay to have to walk on all of the rides or even the vast majority of them at the theme parks they paid for in full in advance. Most would not like the only choices to be to wait on 60 minute lines all week OR PAY to skip.
Geez, hyperbole much. Even if PA is super popular (which I think it will be), it's not going to mean 1+ standby waits on all rides your entire week-long trip, unless you're going the last week in December, in which case it would have been that way regardless.

As long as possible. It's clear they prioritized the deluxes because they make more money for the same room.
Umm no. Not quite but nice try. Have you stayed in a deluxe resort room? They’re deluxe category for a reason. Is it comparable to a 5 star resort in BoraBora? NO. That I can state unequivocally but the deluxe rooms at WDW compared to the value resort rooms- definitely an upgrade!

That’s because the value resort rooms are basically a motel 6 with large colorful paint and props to make it “magical”

WDW deluxe rooms make more money per guest than moderate and value. That is why Disney prioritized their openings.

The fact that WDW Deluxe Resorts are crap in comparison to others at similar price point is irrelevant.

They would not be with 3 fast passes. And the week I'm going is..Dec 27-Jan 3. We usually go spring break, which is almost as crowded if not as crowded as Christmas. And it was very busy and the lines were long and we did our share of waiting. But we always used 3 fast passes to get on 3 rides quickly.

And I do not know what it will mean for this coming trip if DPA is already live and being used. But I hope I still get 3 walk ins without paying.
