Fantasyland/Mine Train aerial image update

Frankly I believe I will wait until the attraction opens before judging it by a overhead photo and a limited, not complete, video!

I never understand why some just have to tear something apart before they have all the information and the attraction is open.

I heard the same thing from a few on the DL threads, when Cars land was being built. Obviously they were VERY wrong!

Not trying to tear it apart. Just stating the facts and trying to keep realistic expectations based on what we know and based on what Disney has provided.

It will be more impressive than 2/3 of the rides in Carsland. The 3rd one...not so much.;)

Interestingly, thats fairly accurate.

Hello there Hyhnt,

My point was not directed to any one person or posting. I understand your points on the staging and number of inside scenes. I was trying to show we don't have many facts at this stage.

There are others that have been busy tearing 7DMT apart because they wanted an over the top trill ride in the middle of Fantasyland and/or were tearing it apart as being a failure before we know much about it.

Seems unless a new attraction is over the top coaster or scare ride, the same group immediately declares it a failure, waste of time , etc.etc.etc. They don't seem to understand Disney has and does excellent thrill rides, directed to families, the whole family, young and elderly, not just to young adults and teenagers.

I would also point out that WDW has so much more then just the latest major ride, shows, parades, resorts, and all the small things that helps make all the magic. boats, sports activities, skiing, para sailing, campfire sing-alongs, night water parades, etc, etc,

But we do have many facts at this stage. We know the entire layout. We know the ride will be about 90 seconds and we've seen most of that in a virtual ride-through provided by Disney.

We also know that this spot used to contain a major E-Ticket attraction that ran from opening day until 1994. We have been waiting for it's replacement for almost 20 years so expectations are naturally high.

I can only speak for myself - but I don't want to see Disney build a 'over the top coaster or scare ride' - I want to see Disney build a world class E-Ticket in the same vein as past major rides like Pirates, Mansion, 20k Leagues, Small World, Horizons, the original Imagination, etc. Only Disney can build them like that and they have been dropping the ball in the last 20 years - big time - at least in the USA. This is where some of the skepticism is coming from. My $.02

I don't remember seeing a complete layout , except a hand done diagram, if a official layout is out, I of cause was wrong on that part. the video chip was limited and only about 60%.

I agree the old ones were great, but some new ones have also been great in design and techno's. Try Soaring, RNR,
test track some love! (not my favorite), Everest, Dinosaur I like, and others, the stage shows, Fantasmic, the rebuilt CA, Cars land, etc.

I do agree Iger is was looking just as China for 5 years, I am hoping he is waking up and will deliver on new attractions for WDW.

My point was more others here and other broads that seem to tear 7DMT apart because it will not be a coaster, 100 feet in the air with a dive, right in the middle of Fantasy land............they just don't get Disney.

Sounds like you work for the Disney marketing machine. I don't think it is outrageous to expect Disney to provide the latest and greatest experiences...they are a PREMIUM resort. that continually raises their prices... Thing is, people don't care about the price increases when they deliver a premium quality experience...but as the offerings dwindle and become dumbed-down to a lot of princess Hug Zones and cheap attractions, I think it is right to criticize. That said, I am hoping the 7DMT is a solid attraction and am sure it will be well done...Just wish we had gotten a little more in the "Biggest Expansion in WDW history"....

Sorry the facts I point out make me a marketer in your eyes. It was just facts.

I don't disagree with your other points, in fact I totally agree.

This has been a thread about 7dmt and my comments about the few here who tear it down before it even opens.

And I agree with you about those marketing points, but don't want to use them to excuse Disney's lack of creative vision and quality experiences.... Like saying, "Yeah it is sad that Pirates of the Caribbean was closed down to turn it into a Jack Sparrow Meet & Greet, but the dinner at O'Hana is delicious... Know what I mean? LOL

That hand drawn one matches what we can see in the aerial view during construction, so there is a 99% chance that it is an accurate representation of the final track layout. It's very unlikely that there is going to be another 60 seconds of track length inside the show building that we don't know about.

Hi Danlb 2000,

Like I said you can offer a opinion, but since you don't have detailed and factual information, it is still a opinion. You are free to do so and I am free to disagree.

Whether there more time underground is not the only point, Its the good or bad of the entire attraction.

Others, some on this site and other sites, are dam right tearing the whole attraction apart just because they want a thrill ride in the middle of Fantasyland. I totally silly notion to anyone who gets what Disney is about.

I will still wait to see how good it is or isn't when it opens.

Not really. I don't care if it's a thrill ride or not. I'm just waiting impatiently for an E-Ticket to be built at WDW. It's already been 7 years since the last one. It looks like it will end up being 11 years between E-Tickets opening. You will find plenty here who will rave about Mystic Manor at HKDL, which is certainly family-friendly. Impressive, immersive rides are what I expect. Not skewered Fisher-Price fish in an extremely bright warehouse with a beautiful queue. I'm sure 7DMT will have a wonderful queue, too.

I'm not tearing it down before I ride it in person. I think it looks amazing. I'm just sad. Sad that WDW got the 7Dwarfs coaster that was shortened from the original design that I think Lee showed us. The track length was shortened as well as some of the show scenes deleted. It will still be a fun ride, just not as great as it could have been. I cant wait to ride it next year!

edit: I believe that Shanghai is rumored to be getting the full 7Dwarfs coaster, it will be fun to see how they are different if that is true.

Iger does seem bent on doing more for the China parks and any other Disney parks in the world.

I wonder what his reaction will be if the Chinese government just decides to take them both away from Disney!

Interesting thought. I'm no expert on China but I thought they are trying to have better relations with the rest of the world. Trying to increase their exports even more and make more counties become indebted to them. So I don't see them doing that. Also If they just stole them they would not have any new ties to Disney for the future. They are all about profits now in China so I see them wanting to stay with Disney. Just taking them is not a good move in my Opinion.

Maybe there is an expert on China here who can let us know.

Well I was half joking, but China will do what they feel will help them. They are known to sign contracts to protect technology , have a foreign company pay to build a factory to take advantage of the almost slave labor, start manufacturing something and then they steal the technology and open their own plant. A old story in China.

I agree Disney would be hard for them to physically take a theme park with the Disney name, However, I would never say never. They had stolen a lot of new/ big ticket products and technology, from some very big companies.
