We called tonight to try and upgrade our reservation to Poly. We have 3 children so we are limited to the resorts we can get with one room. Anyway, the only room that is available for the Poly during our stay in April was the Honeymoon Suite at a rate of over $6000 for a week.

These offers are always too good to be true.

Resort Change

Well, we finally switched up to a moderate resort to get the deal (orginally at pop). We are coming in January 3rd and knew that we had to have two confirmation numbers, but I didn't even think about having to check out and check back in. Yuck....Oh well, the deal was to amazing to pass up.

Well, I'm gonna call tomorrow because I'm thoroughly confused on this one. I can't figure out if it's a better deal than the AP rate I got or not. It all depends. Do you have to book a 1-day MYW ticket for each person in your party or can you wing it with just 1 ticket for 1 adult even if you have 4 booked to stay in your room? Will I be able to wing it when I get there sorta like I did last December. Basically, I booked a package w/1 day MYW tix for each of us so I could get the dining plan. Hubby was an AP holder and 3 of us needed to purchase new passes. Guest Relations took the 1 day MYW tix and applied it towards our the purchase of our passes. When we go in January I'll be repurchasing the 3 passes again (we will repurchase rather than renew because I want the passes to be effective for 1 year from the January dates so I can squeeze in a 2nd trip on them later next year). Will I be able to apply the unused MYW tix to the AP's again??? I don't see how I'd ever use the MYW tickets in the future because we are passholders. :shrug:

Hi Sweet Pea, the answer is yes you must purchase at least a 1 day MYW Base ticket at minimum for the days for all people traveling in the same room. The passes are specifically for each individual person and cannot be used for admission by any one else such as a family member of friend. You can, however apply the "credit" of the one day ticket towards the renewal of your Annual Pass. Depending on your dates, the number of days you are traveling etc, I would definitely think it is worth runnning the numbers to see. I have a feeling, this might be the better deal, between the discount which is slightly more than most AP discounts I have seen and the $200.00 gift card assuming that you are taking your trip before 3/29/2009. Forgive me if this has been answered already, but we are going in May and renting a house. can you do the ticket deal separate, or must you rent hotel as well to get the ticket deal?

There is no ticket deal at all per se. The deal is a Magic Your Way Package offer which includes a resort stay at a Disney owned and operated resort and the purchase of a Magic Your Way ticket of at least a one day base ticket. Buying either the resort stay or the tickets by themselves does NOT make you eligible for this offer at all. Belle

I booked my 4 night trip for the end of January a few weeks ago, but I'm wondering if I can get the $200 gift card added to the reservation. Are the gift cards available only to people who book the 7 night package using the promotion?

Clearly it looks bad for room bookings, but I would point out that this is essentially the same deal they had for two years after 9/11. I point that out because many people are saying that the downturn is a legitimate reason for Disney to cut back on hours, parades, shows, etc., as they have been doing, when during the previous downturn they more or less "held the line."
