Fantasmic

Out of all the great things to see at WDW, and there are many, Fantasmic might be my favorite. I don’t know what it is, but I just never get tired of seeing it. Obviously we see it every time we go to WDW. But I also watch it a lot on youtube. And it never gets old. The finale always seems to give me chills.

Forgive me if this has already been discussed. But I was just curious what everyone’s thoughts are towards Fantasmic? Are people in general as crazy about it as we are?

I agree. It's definitely a must see. We also plan our trip around when it's showing. We always try to make it one the last things we see at WDW. Just seems like a pretty neat way to cap off our trip.

It's our favorite nighttime show, but it needs updating, as others on this board have said. The Pochahontas scenes need to go....but the rest of the show makes up for that in my opinion :)

Speaking only for my wife & I, Fantasmic! is an absolute must. There are a lot of things at WDW that are semi-similar. 3D Shows, motion simulators, etc. and its nice to have an event that is so different. I think the main thing that appeals to my wife & I, who are both graphic designers, is the mixed-media aspect. Mixing the stage show, with animatronics, with pyro, with water, with the video on the water screens, with the overall story is genius. We've made it a staple attraction of our visits, so we're with ya! :D

I'm a bit out of the loop, but what are some of the suggestions people have for updating the show?

Eh. it's okay. I personally would love them to do the fireworks to Star Wars music every night like they did for Last Tour to Endor. I doubt I would ever miss it.

You have to think though, it needs to appeal to everyone. ot everyone is a Star Wars fan but there are a lot of Lion King, Pochontas, Princess, and Mickey Mouse fans out there.

Bring the dragon from Disneyland's Fantasmic and place it at Hollywood Studios. Add the Peter Pan scene and I'm a happy camper :)

I've never seen the DisneyLand Fantasmic live, but I have seen it on youtube. The Peter Pan scene does look pretty awesome and I wouldn't mind it if they somehow incorporated it in the DHS Fantasmic. Along with the dragon.

IDK about adding a Star Wars scene in Fantasmic. I'm about as big of a Star Wars fan as there is. To me, a Star Wars scene would feel kind of out of place in Fantasmic. Now, I'm totally for Disney doing a Fantasmic-like Star Wars show that is entirely dedicated to Star Wars. But I'm not sure I'd mix the two.

I love it, and I'm sad if I don't get to see Fant! on a trip. The music just makes me so HAPPY. I'm humming it now.

I would like to see some new things added.. I love Poca, but that section could probably go. Some better projections would also be beneficial.

What would NOT be beneficial is the aforementioned Stars Wars addition. Bad bad bad.

Fortunately, every time we’ve gone to the World we’ve seen Fantasmic. We’re going down to WDW later this year. But because of the schedule, we’re only going to have one shot to see it. Hopefully we get good weather that night and it’s not cancelled. Because, like you, I’d be pretty bummed if I couldn’t see it.

I’m kind of indifferent on the Pocahontas scene. I guess if it went away and was replaced by something else I wouldn’t mind.

But I’m definitely not feeling the idea of inserting a Star Wars scene into Fantasmic. Like I said before, it just wouldn’t feel right to see Mickey and all the Disney couples and characters then in bursts a bunch of Storm Troopers and Darth Vader. Least, not for me it wouldn’t. Like I said, I do think it might be a good idea of at some point Disney designs a grand, night-time Star Wars show that is like Fantasmic but dedicated solely to Star Wars with its own amphitheater and all. Some one mentioned in one of the threads that there was rumored talks about expanding DHS. Well, a Star Wars amphitheater with its own grand, night-time show could do well if a DHS expansion were to ever come to fruition. I’m sure between George Lucas and all the imagineers at Disney, they could come up with something that is out of this world. Both literally and figuratively.

I like Fantasmic at WDW. I have seen it only twice.

However I LOVE Fantasmic at DL! That's the version I fell in love with the first time I saw it, and the one I watch over and over again on youtube and my home videos.

The Peter Pan sequence makes me cry with joy.
The pocahontas sequence makes me want to cry in disbelief.

I love Fantasmic but haven't seen it in years! I had the dinner package set up for my last trip in August 2008 but TS Faye ruined our plans and got the show cancelled. I missed it in my August 2007 trip because no one wanted to wait on line with me. This December I am going to see it even if I go by myself.
