Fantasmic Reopening Watch

I just don't get the hype for this show. And I really don't understand the queue getting all the way to the gates. I mean, it is a really old show with something like 4 minutes of new stuff. And when I say new stuff, I mean Frozen and Moana (is it Pocahontas too?) which are all old IPs. People are out there waiting three hours... this fandom is crazy.

…is an interesting perspective to share on a WDW fan discussion forum.

I guess they should get rid of Mickey as well because that is one old IP.

Frozen is 9 years old now. Moana is 6 years old now...

I wouldn't call Moana an old IP, but Frozen is starting to get into that classic area...

They could have used Encanto (2021), or some of the recent pixar films..

...but... Frozen still makes the big bucks. And it just had a sequel in 2019... So....

.....Never mind. Point taken.

Probably best nighttime show and only origional one in Disney World right now. I like the fountains, lighting and the fact they kept the original theme instead of using the music in Disneylands version, no overkill on mickeys voiceover like disneylands but the new sequences were underwhelming. They looked like they were wearing bad Halloween costumes in the new sequences. Now I understand that the show is viewed further than most but it did look terrible.

Yeah. It was originally intended to dump directly into the parking lot with huge walkways. But then it was deemed guests needed to pass merchandise corridors instead.
🙄🤦‍♀️
I shouldn’t be surprised by this but I’ve often wondered why there wasn’t a direct exit. The irony is I don’t even remember anything being open after the second show.

The other night at the cast preview we were dumped out in front of the park. Im assuming this will be done for the 9:30 show?

In the before times, I have found there to be little rhyme or reason to where you were directed out after a show that ended after the park closed. Some times, we would come out right by Tower, but other times we'd get routed behind Beauty and the Beast, down a backstage path, and then pop out right by the front entrance. Really seemed to be rather random.
