An additional 10:30pm performance of Fantasmic! has been added May 26 through May 29. Beginning June 14, the 9pm performance of Fantasmic! shifts to 9:15pm.
YES!! I fly in early evening of the 26th and had planned to book it over to DHS to see Fantasmic. Now I don't have to worry about rushing from MCO to SSR and over to DHS.

What's the reason for the 15 minute shift?
Hopefully Epcot Forever doesn't change times either, as that is currently scheduled at the same time as F! (when it's a one showing night).

It kinda ruins the mood and distracting when you hear/see EF going on in the background imo.

While it's pure speculation (and clickbait) from ITM, it remains a possibility. Doubt there's any merit or chance of it happening though.

We’re talking about Disney Princess Ariel from the Walt Disney animated classic The Little Mermaid (1989), who reportedly is the highest-paid Disney character in the nighttime spectacular Fantasmic!

...

While Disney has not announced any official plans to invite Halle Bailey’s version of Ariel into the upcoming Fantasmic! performances, thinking that the live-action Princess could appear during the nighttime spectacular is not farfetched, especially considering that new characters like Moana and Mirabel have already been included in the show. However, as of this article’s publishing, this remains purely speculative.

Let me go on record again as not caring, mermaids have no race, because they aren’t real. What color Ariel’s skin is on her top half is not integral to the story, where’s the outrage that her tail is more aqua with purple highlights? That changed colors from the animated movie too and is half her body.

Its distracts from the more worthwhile discussions about the movie, mainly the reason why it even exists, and the choice in character design for flounder and Sebastian which are literally horrific. I’m just glad that this time they hired a person who can sing to play one of Howard Ashman’s Princesses.

Anything from inside the tragic should be discounted immediately

Based on no insider information, I would say that this is 99.5% not happening.

Post show announcements have returned to F! It was last seen/heard years ago up until the park closures, but didn't return when the show returned last November.

This new announcement uses the same female voice from the current preshow announcements and also has a slightly different script (italicized and underlined below) than the last iteration from 2020.

We hoped you enjoyed Fantasmic! Please exit at the rear of the amphitheater, and for everyone's safety, do not walk on top of or climb over the benches. Thank you for your cooperation and have a wonderful evening.

New (from last night):

Old (March 2020):

One other difference is that in previous years/iterations, the announcements were repeated in other languages like Spanish, but currently are not.

HEA doesn't have any either.

Curious and maybe someone can answer in here.

At the end of Fantasmic, all the characters show up on the boat. But there are many characters that aren't in the show at any other time that show up on this boat too. Why doesn't Disney change those out fairly often? That just seems like such an easy and obvious way to surprise people with rare characters.

Technically all the characters that (currently) appear on the boat, except the Fab 5 & Chip/Dale, do appear in the show in some form.

Like the 7 dwarves are tied to Snow White which she appears on the princess barge. The dwarves also appear in the bubble sequence.

Pinocchio and Stitch both appear in the bubbles also.

Tiana and Prince Naveen appear in the transition sequence to the princess segment. They also appear in the bubbles.

Everyone else has a direct live appearance from the jungle to hero to princess segment.

They do change some of the characters every couple years, at least in the past. I think the last switch was in 2017 when Megara was swapped with Moana. Then with the refresh in 2022, a bunch of characters were swapped around.

Mary Poppins has no part in the show, yet she’s on there. I also don’t recall Stitch appearing in a bubble, though appearing in a projection bubble is a low bar for being on the boat. Just feels like a missed opportunity to consistently show unique characters.

Ah darn, you’re right about Poppins. Idk anymore then lol..

I do think it’s more of a $ than anything else really. They would need to design a costume (or outfit) custom to the show. Make it waterproof, fireproof from pyro, etc. Then make multiple copies of that thing since they would need to be washed and maintained regularly.

At DL, they only really swap their face characters regularly, which probably benefits from the entertainment budget being shared with DL park proper. At DHS, obviously it’s a different situation there. Having more costumed characters (like the 7 dwarves) is cheaper than 7 face characters.

And last, which I think is also likely, is that they keep the classic and recognizable characters to benefit the audiences from around the world since that’s what WDW mainly caters to.

In addition to the above, Fantasmic! moves to a 9:30pm showtime beginning September 19.

Any reason why it is moved up to 8:30 on August 27th? Seems strange to move it to 9:30 for only 21 days and then move it an hour earlier. Seems like you won't be able to enjoy the park as long if you want to see the show at the end of the day since it will be performing during park hours instead of afterwards.
